Lost

I have been trying to get into this show because of all the hub-bub. I even bought the first two years on DVD.

I just don't get it.

I like the shows and all, but I must be too simple because I don't even see all the sub-plots when people point them out to me.

...ooOoOoo... look... a butterfly... *wandering off*

feel free to send me the dvd's. ;P

I like watching from start to finish with no ads, and then not having to hang until the next week, but so far I'm only about 1/2 way through season one.

It's why I always dvr it and ffw through the commercial crap.

It really is a show that you either love or hate.

And hey, Boone used to be a blonde (something is happening in his after life) but it's all good as long as I get to look at his eyes.

As for the Michael thing, whom I never really cared much for, he'd already lost his son and had just gotten him back. He could have asked Ana Lucia to leave the hatch while he "murdered" Ben, then let him out and shot himself. But they wanted her off the show, or depending on who/what you believe she did, and that was just a way to make that happen. The other girl was an accident. If someone took my son and told me the only way to 'save' him was to do it - it'd be hard but I probably would. So from that standpoint I understand.

--I think I'm really overthinking the entire thing, but whatev. it's fun.

I hope in future episodes they keep Locke shirted and Desmond pantless. =D

If Michael had killed one or more of the people holding his child, I'd understand that. What he did was beyond the pale for me.

It's easy to think you know what you would do in such a situation. Would most parents kill for their kids?

Perhaps the person hurting or holding the kids but another person at random? I don't believe so.

I don't mind lock shirtless at all.

I'm not sure Desmond is eye candy for me either but it's all good.

I think that most parents could understand why Michael did what he did, though hope that faced with the same choice we would have made some changes.
Sun slept with the bald guy, I think even loved him a bit - probably not as much as he loved her. But even what she did was understandable to some degree - Jin was trapped in the relationship with her father, and started becoming just like him.

As for Locke's story last night - obviously he went to that maryjane farm/commune after the thing with his father, and his fiance ended. He said something during his prayer at the table about finding a family that was better than his real one, he was always searching/wanting a familial connection which is what led to the interactions he'd had with his father. I think for him it was just that, about being around people he viewed as his family and really didn't have anything to do with the drugs and money. That particular flashback was because of the choices he'd made in his life, cleaning up his own messes and doing the right thing. While I'd hoped they'd explain why he was paralyzed I also know that's potentially a huge story and they'll save it as long as they can.

This show isn't for people who have to have instant, or full gratification. I like the fact that they don't tell us much, that's the charm of the show, as I've said many times. As for Jericho, which I enjoy, they don't exactly tell a lot either.

I thought they addressed why Locke was paralyzed? He was in a car accident and it was something to do with his father. But you're right about the instant gratification thing, not for them. I do find this show to be extremely creative and mostly orignial...

I think it's "jumped the shark" but we will see. Notice the "new" stranded people shown in this episode? One female and one male. LOL!

If Sun did sleep with the bald guy, why did she tell him, "No, I can't"? I think they had planned on it, but when it came down to the deed, she backed out. Did Jin ever really know what happened? And did the bald guy jump, or did someone finish what Jin couldn't do?

I agree with your analysis, Jinx, about Sun not wanting someone like her father, and I think she almost went with bald guy because he offered her an escape. But, honor being what it is, I think she pulled away at the last minute.

Michael fought like hell for his son in the flashbacks in season 2 when he didn't even really know him. He's always been a little crazed when it comes to Walt. If he hadn't shot Ana Lucia, she would have been a witness to him letting Ben escape and they never would have let him go back to the Others' camp. They set it up for Michael to be irrational.

Yes, I think you're right... but he could walk for a long time after his dad took his kidney.

His father did take his kidney but that’s not what paralyzed him. I can’t remember exactly but it was because of his father that he crashed his car, became paralyzed, I think in season 1

*lol* Tat

While I understand he's only the occasional guest now, and is probably doing other projects, his longer hair didn't flow with the story line.

Nothing really "flows" with the story line in this show. Polar bears surviving and thriving in the tropics, a group of people who have contact with the outside world, power sources that go undetected by any governments, yada yada yada...

They can't be on another island. They CAN'T be. Hurley walked back to camp, as did Michael. They have to be conning Sawyer.

They were on Original Island when they were captured and K, J & S were moved to Alacatraz 2 later. By submarine.

Boy, Sawyer sure can take a punch, can't he?

Thats what made the show so amazing, looks like there is a plan brewing from The Others, but why? Who are these people?

I also loved the flashbacks and the close up of Kate. IM in love with her!

Possibly, but like Mutt sorta said, it's possible. Add to that they were so desperate to get Desmond's boat, which may explain that.

The first show this season showed the island they were on, the others little town and the two sections of burning plane off in the distance. It all looked like the same island.

What exactly was Desmond doing, last night?

Desmond knew that lightning was going to strike. First, he tried to get Claire and Turniphead to move up the beach. When they wouldn't, he set up a lightning rod to save their lives.

The Others' village has to be on the main island, because when the plane crashed, Ben sent two guys to find the crash sites, which they said they could run to in an hour.

The Fish Biscuit Zoo is on Island 2. Of course, this means that the Polar Bears swam to Island 1, unless the Others shipped the bears there to get rid of them. But Polar Bears love to swim, especially in a hot climate.

I figured that's why he did it. Charlie was being such a dork - pissing all over Claire and her leanto.
