okay, after browsing around online I came across these screen caps of the Other village place.

Geez, look how big that island is and notice the smoke from the two sections of the planes off in the distance.
(the first picture reminded me of something you'd see in Sims. heh)


Few things I thought was interesting from tonights season premiere.

The Hydra station

Not just that they separated the three (that was expected) but how they did. The surroundings. Jack is in a former shark tank, Kate was asked to shower, put on a clean dress and "treated" to breakfast and poor Sawyer was kept outside without offer for food and drink (unlike the other two) and had to figure out how to win what looked like dog food.

The story between Henry (or should I say, Ben) and Juliet. The comment he made about being out of the book club, his apparent unconcern of Jacks threat to kill her (and her reaction) and the fact that when Jack turned that wheel, he took off and seemingly left her to die.

Those houses! The fact that they all have electricity there, so far away from the ocean in a sort of valley.

The file she had on Jack, including rather up to date stuff like his fathers autopsy. They're getting their stuff someway, from someone somewhere, also including the food drops.

The intercom button that Jack pushed that sort of sounded like his father saying, "Let it go".

Jack tries to escape and suddenly water comes in so he thinks he's underwater, but is he really? Sawyer's "jail" buddy who conviently picks both his and Sawyers locks, telling him which way to run - and both recaptured. Is it all just to try and dissuade them from attempting to run by hoping to convince them that it's impossible.

The thing that I love about this show is what others really hate. They don't answer so many of the questions but give you new ones to ask.



Something that doesn't have anything to do with the show, but I noticed Jack had stars tattoed on the inside of his arm. Where they there last season?

My theory is the Dharma Initiatie was funded by Hanso. Dharma Initiative is a group of ambitious and idealistic intellectuals across a broad spectrum of science.

They went to the island to isolate themselves for research and Hanso funded them.

On the island they found something wrong, something that would end humanity or human kind. I think they may have found the Extinction Formula, the mathmatical formula that tells how mankind will die.

They started developing ways to avert this and ways to contribute to humanity but doing so means they had to "subtract" people from the formula that would end the world.


I think the Others see themselves as averting the extinction that characters like Jack, Hurley and others would have caused.

The Others can't leave the island because they play a part in the formula too.

They can't just kill the survivors because that would throw the formula off too much.

They get all the dirt they do because they are so well connected and funded cause people in the know realize how important their work is.


Oh and before the Others came, centuries ago people "drove" the "evil" that would end the world in the equation to the island so for whatever reason the island is the best place to change the equation.


That's my theory.

After the hatch implodes, the group learns of Locke, Eko and Desmond's fate; Hurley returns to the beach to tell what happened when he, Jack, Kate and Sawyer encountered the others.

One of the things I love about the show in the beginning was that the characters were not black and white. They were more fully developed than that and grey.

Last season the show was frustrating. This is my last season if they don't make it more cohesive. It seems to me they are starting to rewrite some of the previously presented facts and do some character assassination, particularly with Sun. I'm not happy about that. I wasn't happy about the Michael thing last season either. That did not work for me at all. Having him kill people he had nothing against was total crap, IMO.

I am looking forward to seeing Mr. Eko and the hunter, formally paralyzed dude, tonight though.

The way things are going I may not even last the season.

I do enjoy Sawyer.

I'm enjoying Jerrico better than Lost.

I don't know if I would call it character assassination.... Michael was genuinely sorry for killing them, but he was obsessed with getting Walt back and would literally do ANYTHING to get him back. Sun has maintained her integrity because she didn't sleep with the bald guy, though very tempted to.

It was good to see more of Locke's back story last night, but it didn't feel as cohesive as other parts of his story. I didn't get the sense of where it fit with the rest of his past. And we still don't know why his legs were paralyzed, dammit!

I thought Sun DID sleep with the bald guy, it seemed to me there was more than one meeting with him. I could be wrong.

Thanks for reminding me about Walt, that little tidbit got sweeped under the rug this season so far.....I really wish they would keep the story tighter and not branch out as much...

Sun slept with the bald guy, I think even loved him a bit - probably not as much as he loved her. But even what she did was understandable to some degree - Jin was trapped in the relationship with her father, and started becoming just like him.

As for Locke's story last night - obviously he went to that maryjane farm/commune after the thing with his father, and his fiance ended. He said something during his prayer at the table about finding a family that was better than his real one, he was always searching/wanting a familial connection which is what led to the interactions he'd had with his father. I think for him it was just that, about being around people he viewed as his family and really didn't have anything to do with the drugs and money. That particular flashback was because of the choices he'd made in his life, cleaning up his own messes and doing the right thing. While I'd hoped they'd explain why he was paralyzed I also know that's potentially a huge story and they'll save it as long as they can.

This show isn't for people who have to have instant, or full gratification. I like the fact that they don't tell us much, that's the charm of the show, as I've said many times. As for Jericho, which I enjoy, they don't exactly tell a lot either.

Michael IMO, his character as previously presented wouldn't have done anything particularly not killing people he had nothing against. If they don't provide some kind of brain washing or programing, it's a real problem that it went down like that.

I agree, the back story didn't seem to fit with what we know about Locke at all. It felt too strange.

I've had someone repeatedly threaten to take my kids away from me because of that I know what I would and would not do about it. What he did was flat out wrong and there were other options IMO.

To me it is not understandable that Sun fell in love, knew what her husband had to do to marry her and then took to bitching at him about it, cheating on him and trying to run away. Jin did what he had too but it was also clear that he continued to do it out of love for her and lack of alternatives. His heart was still far too tender to have become like her father. She has wrong him a great many ways. This shit about lying to him just last week was really pissing me off. Her looks at Sayed (not sure how you spell his name) were that of someone saying I want to fuck you too.

I agree with your assessment of Locke's story. We could make those connections but it was sloppy of the writers to make it feel that disjointed and loose.

Not just any bear, polar bear the Rhodes Scholars of bears. LMFAO. Remember when we thought Walt has conjured that first bear up from his comic book? LOL.

You are right Jericho doesn't tell us much but they have us feeling pretty comfortable that we generally know what is going on. They haven't started character assignation yet which is one of my top pet peeves. In any story I want some characters to pull for and care about. Don't make those and then show me what shits they are down the road. That only makes me turn off the set.

I have been trying to get into this show because of all the hub-bub. I even bought the first two years on DVD.

I just don't get it.

I like the shows and all, but I must be too simple because I don't even see all the sub-plots when people point them out to me.

While I understand he's only the occasional guest now, and is probably doing other projects, his longer hair didn't flow with the story line.


In all honesty with the background stories of Jin and Sun, I feel sympathy for both. They were stuck because of her eviiiiil father. Part of Jin had to hide away so that he could do the jobs her father made him do, and it carried over into his marriage - he was cold and a asshole to her, yet still loved her but she didn't see that for awhile. I think what made her fall for him in the first place was that he wasn't her father, and when he turned into a version of him, she couldn't take it even though Jin really didn't feel as if he had a choice. What'd he say last week, something about he does it because he loves her. He does it for her. The island was the best thing that could have happened to them. heh

As for the Michael thing, whom I never really cared much for, he'd already lost his son and had just gotten him back. He could have asked Ana Lucia to leave the hatch while he "murdered" Ben, then let him out and shot himself. But they wanted her off the show, or depending on who/what you believe she did, and that was just a way to make that happen. The other girl was an accident. If someone took my son and told me the only way to 'save' him was to do it - it'd be hard but I probably would. So from that standpoint I understand.

--I think I'm really overthinking the entire thing, but whatev. it's fun.


I hope in future episodes they keep Locke shirted and Desmond pantless. =D
