It was on the hatch that Locke and Boone found in the ground a few weeks ago.

So far, all the characters except Claire, Sayid and Micheal/Walt have been shown to same sort of a previous connection to each other in some way, however minor.

As for the number 8 and 15, The flight number was 815, Kate's safety deposit box was 815, and the copy machine Charlie barfed into was the model number 815.

23 is the sacred number of the Dischordians, and in Hitchhiker's Guide, the answer to the question "What is the meaning of life?" the answer is "42".

As far as I know, Ethan just "appeared" as another survivor. He didn't have any connection (so far) with Danielle. It also appears that Ethan was the only one who abducted Claire and Charlie, although how one skinny guy can forcibly abduct two people is beyond me.

Oh, yeah. I forgot she had a name. She's just crazy french woman to me.
