It's actually the second Polar Bear. They killed one back in episode 2 or 3.
But hey, on an island with invisible dinosaurs, anything's possible.

"Lost" is fast becoming the most confusing, stream of conciousness, impossible, ridiculous, and just plain silly show on T.V.

but I won't miss an episode


and btw, the entire series is a dream sequence and in the end Pam will wake up and find Bobby in the shower on the Southfork Ranch

I think it was real. But I don't get to see every episode, so maybe not.

I have to wonder. I'm sure the writers have a master plan, but did they plan for one season? Two? Seven? The network was solidly behind the show, but you can never count on having a hit.
I just hope it doesn't collapse into a pile of junk like Twin Peaks did.

I was shocked that they have a show with fat, old and Asian people on it.

There was another hint about Walt and mind power. Remember the episode where he was winning at backgammon and he said that someone (his dad?) had told him he was the luckiest person he'd ever seen?

I'm still not sure how this would lead to a polar bear threatening Walt, though, since that's not something one would wish for. This is leaving aside the whole issue of what a polar bear is even doing there in the first place.

The bear is real. He has the ability to create things that he thinks of into reality. Obviously he has no control over the power. I don't know if it is triggered by fear or by his need for attention.

I was thinking about the scene where Walt was reading the comic and they showed the polar bear then when walts father threw the comic book in the fire......maybe somewhere in Walt's mind he was mad enough at his father that the bear went after him after Walt escaped.....again I dunno just a thought

It was the teetering on the tanks' edge those last few episodes before the christmas break. Some really weak shows then.
I noticed next week is going to be a rerun. Are they still filming shows and adapting it to what people are saying?
I say if the intent is to last more than a season, they'll have to create opposing factions. Look back at all successful series of this nature that ran the gambit, they all had the good guyzz and the bad. That way they could always fill in the space between side adventures.
In losts' case, they could create two groups that people have different sympathies for and at the same time are in competition with each other. Makes for a really versatile show with writing options. One example, they could make two shows portraying the same battle/war/whatever from the perspective of the different groups.
With out the seperation though, the show will have a hard time running a second season. Nobody wants a total cliffhanger like they'd have to leave otherwise.

Yes, this is the 2nd Polar Bear. The first one was in episode 2, and for those who don't remember...Walt happened to be looking at the Polar Bear in the comic book in that episode as well.

Nothing I can think of. It's been a while since I read it and I'm not going to try and dig it out. (My comics are not in order. I'm only so much of a fanboy.)

What in the bloody hell was the purpose of making a big deal about the "next half of the season premiere" if they were just going to follow with reruns?

US television seasons desperately need to be shortened. Studios can't afford production costs for that long anyway.

I was just wondering that myself? it simply makes no sense unless they were trying not to compete last Wednesday night with some other show??

I am thinking that wanted to lure in Lost viewers (which probably ended up being a larger number than they originally expected) to stick around for the season premiere for Alias--built in viewership and all that.

We clearly see where the network's priority lies. Pisses me off. This is the only television show I watch. So, it matters.

Walt did play Hurley at one point but wasnt it Loc that tought Walt how to play early in the season.

Don't mind the re-runs

I keep learning and seeing things I didn't see the first time.
