Glad you joined the group here. It is a good show and last night was a turn in the right direction. Each show gives backstory to another survivor yet most of the stories are not vital to the show.

We are still waiting to find out what crime Kate did in the past.

well, Hurley (main doc) had to deal with his dad dying, nothing really there.

Charlie (english dude that was in LOTR) was hooked on drugs from his days in his band, but he is all better now

Jin (Korean woman) wanted to run away from her husband but couldnt do it. She does know english (and hubby i think just found out). She is probably gone hook up with Walt (black guy)

Locke( bald guy) was a real weirdo who wanted a fantasy life. Suddenly this is his fantasy life and he has taken control of it despite it being a bit too much of a step for us to beleive, especially after getting his legs working again after the crash.

Kate is on the run from something. She was in handcuffs o nthe plane and her police escort died in the crash. Some of the people know she was a criminal

We will probably get Sayids story next week. He was an ex republican guard in iraq.

As far as the island goes...the is something that killed a few people. Some large animal. The is also some sos signal coming from somehwer on the island that has been running for 16 years.

Next week should explain a few things...

I thought it was cool that when Kate smacked Sawyer, she didn't slap him or punch him, she gave him a nice, crisp elbow shot to the jaw. Not something an untrained fighter would do. Hmmm interesting.

This thread really isn't helping me figure out the show.

There are 47 survivors of a plane crash on an island somewhere near Tahiti. They were traveling from Australia to the US.

On the island is something ... we haven't seen it, but it's big. Also, there are polar bears on this island, boar & a survivor from a wreck some 16 years earlier. She debuted tonight.

Each show occurs over 48 hours & generally gives backlog on 1 specific character.

Jack, a doctor.
Kate, a convict.
Sayid, an Arabic soldier.
Sawyer, a con man.
Charlie, a rock star.
Hurley, the big man.
The bald guy, who was paralyzed at some point in life & is one hell of a hunter.
And Walt, a black man with his son, who he is just meeting.

Also, there's a Korean couple, a brother & sister and a pregnant woman.
