Lost

Weakest episode yet. A cave in!?!? Cliche city.Every dramatic show in TV history that was not set in a city had a cave in. And even some of the city ones too.
Didn't the same thing happen to the Brady Bunch when they were in Hawaii?

LOL!! Thats cause the idol Greg was wearing around his neck fell off!!

I found this on a site and thought it might help to explain the characters, as well as their names, a bit better.

There are currently 14 major characters on the series.

Jack (Matthew Fox)
A doctor, he emerges as the leader of the castaways. He has a lot of skills which come in handy in a crisis situation, but he's not without his own skeletons in his closet.

Kate (Evangeline Lilly)
A fugitive from the law, she was travelling with a US Marshal when the plane crashed. Not much is known of her crime. For Kate (which may or may not be her real name), the crash represents a fresh start for her.

Charlie (Dominic Monaghan)
The bass player for the band Drive Shaft. He has a drug addiction, and as of now still has a stash which he retrieved from the plane.

Hurley (Jorge Garcia)
Warm, nice, and friendly. He's a big guy, willing to help, but is queasy at the sight of blood. Says "dude" a lot.

Boone (Ian Somerhalder)
Shannon's brother. Works as a lifeguard, but he may have to rethink that. May be wealthy.

Shannon (Maggie Grace)
Boone's sister. She holds on to the belief that they will be rescued soon. Also holds on to the belief that the world must obey her every whim. "Studied" in Paris. May be wealthy.

Michael (Harold Perrineau)
A father who flies to Australia to gain custody of a son he hasn't seen in years after the death of his ex-wife.

Walt (Malcolm David Kelley)
Michael's 9-year-old son who's travelling with his father after his mother's death. Has a pet dog, Vincent.

Sayid (Naveen Andrews)
A former member of the Iraqi Republican Guard who served in the Gulf War. He's handy with electronics, and terribly good in Math.

Sawyer (Josh Holloway)
Hot-tempered and rough-and-tumble. Appears to be the typical Southern redneck, yet he has a softer side which occassionally shines through his exterior.

Locke (Terry O'Quinn)
A mysterious man who seems far too at ease in this situation. He may hold the key to where they are and how they got there.

Jin (Daniel Dae Kim)
One half of a non-English speaking Korean couple. He is controlling and protective of his wife, Sun.

Sun (Yunjin Kim)
One half of a non-English speaking Korean couple. She seems to be forced into a conservative role, but seems to have a rebellious streak in her.

Claire (Emilie De Ravin)
An Australian woman 8 months pregnant, even though she's single. "Very modern of me," she says.

. . .

He's too much of a pussy and too maniacal to be a real redneck.
I should know, I've lived around a few.

If the show were for real, Hurley would drop some weight! We shall see....

It's only been 8 days so far. If the show lasts seven seasons, do you think he'll get down to 180?

If he is fat through the entire run of this show, its a fraud!!

The Skipper never lost any weight.
It will also be a fraud if Kate doesn't get hairy legs and armpits.
Mmmm I just pictured Kate with hairy pits.
:p
:rose:

nic show tonight even if we didnt see much of the "island intrigue".

But I think next week will reveal us more on that.

I love this show, its really starting to get interesting!!

I think this is the best show I watch, next to CSI.

But, can Kate get any hotter on a deserted island??

My God in Heaven.

I just know that Jeff Probst is on the island, setting up the next challenge

Maybe Sayid will discover the mystery of why no ugly people survived the crash. Hell, even Hurley is cute in that "big Samoan" kind of way. Reminds me of that Simpsons' line; "I didn't mean real ugly, I meant TV ugly."

I thought tonights ep did a nice job of handling that "what do civilized people do when faced with a problem only violence will solve" issue. It did feel like a bit of a cop out to have the Iraqi guy handle the torture, though.

And Kate sure seemed to make the most of her "one kiss". Hmmm
I really dig this show!

I liked the whole letter sawyer wrote to himself. The whole'he'd been waiting to hand deliver that letter his whole life, only to find he'd delivered it the day he wrote it'. He just didn't bother reading it for 20 years. the was some pretty nice juxtaposition.
I think this week was much better about not dragging out the long shots as much. That really slows things down at times.

It's a letter that he wrote when he was a boy to the man (named Sawyer) that conned his parents out of a lot of money... His dad wound up killing his mom and then himself over it. He kept the letter so that he could hand-deliver it when he found the man.

When he was 19, he wound up having to con a family out of $6,000 to get himself out of a jam... He took the name of Sawyer because he felt that he was now no better than the man that led to him becoming an orphan.

That's why he wants everyone to hate him so much... Because he hates himself for what he's become.

Did anyone else go YES! when she smacked him after the ewww... kiss?!

Said (Sayeed) is gonna have quite a walkabout it seems. How intriguing.

Yep... It looks like he's gonna get captured by someone ELSE that's been living on that island...

I figure that's so they can drop him off for a while then bring him back later. whether it'll be a heroic return or cause some dissention will be interesting.

great episode last night! Sawyers backstory was quite good and didn't kill the pace like all the other had before.

Okay, one thing though. When Sayid was talking with Locke, Locke said that Sawyer could have timed the rocket. But didnt Sayid fire first? How could you time a rocket to go off a moment after like that? You can't.

So who else IS on the island? Someone is as we see from next weeks preview...

Heya Jersey.

I seem to have found this show late, but I'm liking it, so far.

I'm hoping it's like a soap, so I can pick up the backstories I've missed.

They had agreed that they would fire the rockets off at 5 o'clock... So that they would have time to get to their locations and set everything up before turning the equipment on.

Hi legs! (are those yours?)

Glad you joined the group here. It is a good show and last night was a turn in the right direction. Each show gives backstory to another survivor yet most of the stories are not vital to the show.

We are still waiting to find out what crime Kate did in the past.
