I've lost contact to my much valued editor and beta-reader, Stattion. Therefore, I'm looking for a replacement.
My needs are fairly standard, I guess. I'm using the word spell checker and Grammarly so the spelling shouldn't be too bad. Of course, there are still many more mistakes in there than I care to admit but I know the difference between "your" and "you're" or "their", "they're" and "there"
My bigger problem is that English is not my first language and sometimes that shines through. So my first request would be to make sure I actually use English expressions and not anglicised German (mother tongue) ones. Also, input with sentence construction would be very welcome.
Another consequence of this is that I sometimes lack appropriate synonyms and tend to use familiar words too often. So some support on word choice would also be appreciated.
Last but definitely not least is Beta-Reading. Did I mess up the timeline somewhere? Did I miss to introduce a character properly? Are the characters distinguishable? Did my main character go from 25 to 29 within two days?
My stories usually are in the romance category. If they're not, they still have a strong romantic element in them (The Text Message). They are in first person with a male pov. Sex is always consensual and enjoyed by both/all parties. Threesomes or moresomes are well possible. No gay male, no incest, no violence.
The wordcount of the stories I've published so far ranges from 11k to 80k.
