It’s been many years now and I still miss you my love ❤️ I met her when we were young and she was married with two children. I was single and had 1 daughter. Years later we met again this time we both were single so we started dating. She was like a flower always in bloom! I remember we used to just lay on the bed naked and talk for hours on end. She would whisper in my ear you’re so sweet and you are not like other guys I said no I’m not! She kissed me on my cheek and said I love you so much it hurts. I kissed her back and said you are the light in my life girl. So years later I get a phone call at work and was told that she had passed away I was devastated to say the last. I’ve been single since then sure I dated a couple of times but never found that true love again. I’m in my 60s now and my heart is still broken but I still keep my head up and keep going in life. This still brings tears to my eyes even after all these years. So guys please keep your love close to you and hold her and tell her how much she really means to you. And ladies you do the same thing because life is so short and you never know what tomorrow will bring you.

This is what I needed to read. Thank you.

I've been contemplating writing a letter to a very special woman I dated shortly in college -- not to try to get her back or even to sleep with her. She ended up marrying a friend of mine, who has since died, but they had, by all measures that I can see, a great, loving life together.

The three of us would get together every decade or so, and once they asked me why I called them when I was in town. I told them the truth: They both were important in my life from that college time and I feel the need to continue to appreciate the best of our relationships.

I never was upset that the two of them got together -- it was natural. Besides, the long-distance continuation of our short-term in-person relationship had passed. I even recently saw her (with another friend of mine) and it was lovely to be next to her again, even if it was "only" at a restaurant.

I remember the time as a bunch of us sat around a bonfire in college, before we dated, that she put her head on my shoulder. I was oblivious. Or the time during a dorm party when we slipped away and went crazy on each other in a stairwell. But I was a different, somewhat immature guy then and I left school.

In a letter, I want to let her know before our days in this world are done how much she meant to me, and I want her to know that not only did she once have a great marriage with a man who loved her, but there was another relationship where she was (and is) deeply loved that has had a deep impact on me.

Doesn't everyone deserve to know that their love has meant something?
