You know what else would be nice? If people who do a lot of reading here would publish a digest of what they've read and what they think of it: a series of brief reviews. Anyone could do this; you don't have to be an expert, and I've seen it done on other erotic story sites.
(from another thread)

OK. For a while now, I've been hunting down what I call "lost love" stories. Most of them have no or small sex parts, but the theme appeals to my personality and experiences.

So, if you've read a good story of this kind, please PM me or post a link here. But I'd like to ask that you do exercise some judgment as to the quality of the story before you post a link (there are lots of bad or mediocre ones out there).

I have not asked permission from the authors, but I will give a list of great "Lost Love" stories that I've found on Lit and a short review of them. It's this sort of writing that I'm talking about. If this is your cup of beverage, try them...

Story's fairly long (3 Lit pages), but worth the effort. It traces a love between an older woman and a younger man and the role it played in his life. At least, that's my take on it.

One of the top Lit stories that I've read so far. The writing is great and the story very touching.

This is how the author describes it: "The following is a very sad tale of love and loss. While I chose to post this story in the 'Romance' section, be warned, there is very little sexual content to be found within the pages that follow. If it is blistering sex you seek tonight, please feel free to choose one of my other offerings. However, if it is a poignant love story that strikes your fancy, then by all means, please enjoy "A Promise for Keeping"

Another long one. This is a story of a male nurse who falls in love with one of his cancer patients. It tells of his effort to support her and care for her and see her get up and be healthy and happy again. It's a story of giving, and appreciation of life, and friendship, and love -- a reflection on our own mortality.

The story's about the feelings and recollections of a man despodent over the loss of his wife.

I was confused when reading it the first time. So, you need to not rush through it, to sit back and take your time appreciating the back-and-forth between present and flashback. Sad and depressing, but it feels real. I can quibble about some of the technical aspects and such, but it's still a great read.

Everybody has things to say to a lost lover. Frustration, anger, sadness, yearning. This is a story of a woman's "letter" to an ex-lover -- well, actually, it's not a letter but internal thoughts addressed to him.

This is one of the few stories where the "I" and "You" storytelling seemed to come off great.

Why does it have to end? Because that's life. Not everything lasts for ever. There's pain but maybe we can avoid hurting the other.

Very sexual and very emotional tale of a woman who presents her lover with a 3-some as a going-away present (after she decides to break up with him). There is a clear sense of those two having a good connection that simply won't be enough. There is a clear sense of caring and maturity. Life.

I would like to thank all these authors for the pleasure they gave me with their stories.
