Lost in Space. In the first season they tried to make it serious SF (but not very hard SF; in the first episode, the ship was damaged by the heat from a comet ). Then somebody heard the Call of the Camp, and we were seeing space pirates and space cowboys and giant talking carrots, and Dr. Smith morphed from a scary villain into a cowardly butt monkey. "Oh, the pain! Oh, the pain!" Which do you think was better?

Asking which season of Lost in Space one prefers is a bit like asking which Trump brother one likes best, imho. That was one truly ridiculous show, and the only reason I could fathom ever watching it again would be for camp value. It did have a trippy kinda '60s psychadelic feel to it though. And why would any parent in their right mind let their child go out alone anywhere with that creepy Dr.Smith is beyond me. Danger, Will Robinson! Danger! Danger!

I know your a fan of massive Summer Glau pics but are you a fan of the Lost in Space reboot that they made with Matt LeBlanc & Gary Oldman? Incase you're not familiar with the movie, here's a pic.

The thought of yous guys beating off to June Lockhart is kinda quaint. :)

We may have stumbled onto what traumatized KingOrfeo as a child.

Seeing bad science on the screen always did give me shakes and nightmares. I still have PTSD flashbacks to the "Kessel run in under 20 parcecs" line.

That movie needed more Heather Graham and less Blarp.

you should realize the context
that the original sf based show
was essentially up against
the hugely popular, new
and indelibly campy
adam west batman series...

camp was the solution to what was otherwise
going to be a very short run... "lost in the ratings"

also,
that jonathan harris' dr. smith was originally to be a guest star
then eventually out...

but the actor's quirky and oft ultra-camp take on the character
not only made him a permanent "guest star"
but central to most of the episodes

in a way, the batman/lost in space hex
helped propel the over the top/campy
production career of exec-producer irwin allen

The Sixties . . . you had to be there . . .

My favorite Batman ep was the one where the Joker became a modern artist.

i like how they always left the kid with the man who tried to kill them all. the robinsons were excellent parents.

And yet somehow that usually did not turn out to be a bad decision -- Smith might hide behind will, but he also clearly would rather die than harm him.

Honestly, Marta Kristen.

We can thank Hitler for Marta Kristen.

She was the product of the Aryan breeding program in WW2....German Aryan daddy, Norwegian blonde blue eyed mommy. Building a better, more racially pure Nazi, dontcha know.

WW2 ended and Marta was dumped off at the local orphanage, ThankYouVeryMuch. She was adopted by an American couple and brought back to the USA.

She has aged well and gracefully.
