I have a dumb question.
I had a condom break and I may be missing a piece inside me still. Do I have to go to the Doctor to get it out?

A Gyno visit wouldn't hurt (well it would if you have a piece of a latex condom stuck in your vagina.)

Have you tried douching?

This is a good question. I would like to know if there is any way to be sure you get it all out without going to the doctor?

Maybe a guy needs to start carrying a speculum and a flashlight on a date, (and maybe a bottle of RU 82), just for these little emergencies. :D

It is best to be safe than sorry later on. Even if you do and the doc find's nothing, at least you can count it as your yearly checkup possibly

You should definitely get checked out right away if there might be a piece of condom stuck in there or there's any question about pregnancy or STI risk. While Plan B is available without a prescription at most pharmacies, your doctor can prescribe prophylactic meds to cover many STIs, if necessary.

there is more to worry about than just the missing piece

so, you need to go to gynecologist

1) piece of rubber
2) possible pregnancy
3) possible std

Since you're not asking about STD or pregnancy, I'm going to assume that's not an issue.

Condoms are very, very tear-resistant, and they only "break" because of pressure. Once that pressure is relieved, then they won't tear any more, so it's it's very, very unlikely that you do have piece of condom left. The best thing you could do -could have, by now, I guess- is match up the tear on the condom and see if there's a piece missing.

Now, if there is a piece missing, whether or not you have to go to the doctor depends on where it went missing. I mean, anal or oral sex, then no problem; it'll be flushed out by itself. As for vaginal intercourse, every thing drains out eventually, so it should also come out by itself. It's very, very unlikely to plug up anything, and should come out with your next period. Latex is non-toxic, and it won't decompose. The only problem would be if you have an allergy to latex, but you'd know about that already.

Of course, if you have any sort of discomfort in your pubic area in the near future, you should go see a doctor; and if you choose not to now because nothing happens, you should mention it during your next check-up.
