I suspect, you haven't so much as lost your self respect, as had someone near to you pummel it a bit so you don't always recognize it, or your self worth. Be assured, you have a great deal of self worth, and when you can step away from the harsh light someone is casting, you'll see your worth, and rediscover your self respect.

Take the person casting the harsh light in stride if you can. Know the harm they are doing., and choose not to let their negativity harm you any further.

Remember, you are what you are. You are not what others try to tell you you are.

Ted is right in so many respects Hon.
We allow ourselves to be steered into thinking we are of little worth. It then becomes part of a pattern that verifies our sense of self loathing because we can no longer see the good inside of ourselves. It's there it's just difficult to find at times.
We all have a light inside of us, some just show brighter than others, some choose the darkness and some extinguished it a long time ago.
