It is common unfortunately. But my guess is that it is what we make it. I am not sure of your situation, nor am I a good one to give advice, but I am a great listener if you need one

You have started - and that's a good step.
You want companionship - that's what we all want.
YES - YES - YES - you should be doing this. You're hurting and you need an ear or a shoulder or just a place to vent.

It is sad to be married and alone. I am too. Stopped begging for sex over two years ago and quit getting any conversation first of the year. I cook and clean and launder - my lot in life FOR NOW. So if you need someone to talk to drop me a PM.

I've been through some hard times lately and there have been lots of wonderful, kind people here. People I didn't even know. So, yes, you're doing the right thing. Sorry you're having a difficult time. Believe me, I know how it is. It's even hard to find the old you before everything started going to hell.
