I read this great story about a year ago. I can't remember the title, the character's names or the category it was in. I think I remember wondering why it wasn't listed as romance because it ends up being an in depth love story. However, along the way it hits a bunch of other genres so that hardly narrows down the search.

I had an urge to see if the author had written more so I thought I'd search for it and now, 3 days later, what started as a whim has become like a song stuck in my head, driving me insane. I can't find it. I'm normally really good at remembering authors I like. This is my last attempt before I try to forget about it. I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but please, if you know the story, take pity on me.

Everything I can remember:

The two main character's are next door neighbors and grew up together as friends. He is a slut, she is a virgin. She is a tomboy, has brothers (pretty sure the family is Italian and it mentions the "Italian fiery temper"). Her father was in a wheelchair, widowed, and gets a new girlfriend during the course of the story. His ex is bitchy and tries to ruin everything. Both male and female leads work at a hospital, pretty sure she was a child physical therapist and he was a doctor.

The first scene they get in a water fight washing a car. He sees her with her shirt off and decides he wants her, she doesn't want to ruin the friendship. Seduction ensues.

I swear I thought the name of the story was "Just Friends" but I probably just somehow associated it with the movie.
Anyone know?

Stories come and go on Lit. Perhaps the author took it down. But do try the "search stories" feature. For example, I put in the words "Fiery Temper' and got quite a few choices.

And if, in fact, you can remember an exact line or phrase from the story, you can put it in quotes and google it.
