Chain Stories don't seem very well read, probably because people don't know what they're getting with the stories. That one of mine, I think is pretty good. It's a dark, sexy, atmospheric story, with a subtle erotic horror slant. I belive it would have had a lot more views and votes, if it were in Erotic Horror.


I only have one poem here, but still...

It looks as if 'White Scut' at 2.62 is THE WORST story.

It was one of my attempts at Erotic Horror when that category was new. It is not Erotic and not Horror.

However there are people out there with lower scores than that. Are they hiding their heads in shame?

I will admit, the two 'Being Together' stories aren't the greatest. Those were more just for practice.
Actually, I don't like those two at all, lol.

Story with the fewest votes: Curiosity is not becoming, Kajira - 35 (Celebrities) (This one makes me laugh. I think someone doesn't think it belongs in Celebrities. Laurel keeps unbombing it, troll reappears, score fluctuates between 34 and 35. It's long, 5 Lit pages, so hasn't been too popular)

Don't try too hard

I think this contest has nearly run its course.

jeanne_d_artois and I are the blushing writers of the worst rated story that any AH member is prepared to admit.

Matriarch, convicted by her own admission, is the next-to-worst.

Of course, none of us were trying to come last. We did that with "The Worst Chain Story Ever" collaboration.

Now, what if we tried to write the worst story that could get past Laurel and Manu? Perhaps that would be unfair to them and the DurtGurl consortium came very close to testing Laurel and Manu's tempers.

As with the last place contests in the themed competitions it is the kudos of having tried hard to write a good story and failing so spectacularly to enthuse the readers that is the sign of a good last place.

'Merlin and Nimue', jeanne_d_artois's story, seemed a good idea at the time and was written in almost a single session. A little thought might have raised doubts about the basic idea. A little voice in jeanne's head saying 'That'll never work' might have been heeded. As it is - she (me) is proud to claim the honour of admitting to have written the worst rated story by an Author's Hangout regular.

Unless...

Anyone can relieve her/me of her/my award by writing a story that is worse rated than 2.60.

No poems, I can't write poetry to save my life. Thankfully, that's not a daily problem--I've never had to subdue an attacker with some off-the-cuff iambic pentameter.
