With traditional dams and all that newfangled spongy infrastructure, between February 4 and 7 the metropolis captured 8.6 billion gallons of stormwater. For the rainy season in total, LA has accumulated 14.7 billion gallons.

Los Angeles Just Proved How Spongy a City Can Be

Smart cities work with nature instead of against it. LA is detaining stormwater and allowing it to recharge the groundwater table instead of trying to channel it all out to sea.
 
It's awesome, but most of the red-state fans won't care or understand because they have an excess of water right now - in a bad way.

It's almost like the "climate" is "changing". 🤔
