And I stopped picking it up.
It doesn't add up to anything anyway,
It is just loose change on the floor.

I had a lover who wanted that line or something like it for himself. I would go back and find the exact better poem if I could, but that is impossible. I told him he could keep all my lines because poetry is not my brain.
Blame it on the first remedial math class in college. I wanted to be a nurse so I had to pass math. I aced the first class and filled my electives with math and more math. I said: fuck language art, this math is something that makes sense to me and one plus one doesn't equal three anymore. x is worth solving for when you see it pretty, line by line in front of your face, and I don't have to worry about where the comma lives anymore.
