Jomar is right, Kitty. There are dozens of threads going on. Just hop aboard one, and play games or argue politics or discuss writing or commisserate with somebody who was in an accident, or share pictures of children or grandchldren or niecews. Maybe enter the Earth Day Contest or the next contest to arive. You don't need an invitation.

I left some Earth Day story ideas in the Earth Day Contest Support Thread, probably on the second-to-last page. (page 4, post #86) Opening day for submissions is the 28th, but I believe it doesn't close till April 11.

It would be cool if you could put a link to your stories in your signature, so we could get there with one click. There's a tutorial on how to do that, but I don't recall where it's located. That's helpful, isn't it?

This is the last place you want if you like to talk about writerly subjects. All you get here is politics, flirting, games, threadjacking, extremely nice people, links to political op-eds, links to video, links to frivolous sites, occasional polls and people moaning and crying about there being no writerly threads (usually me) and not actually doing anything about it.

If you do happen upon a writerly thread one of two things will happen before the page refreshes. It will either a) turn to politics and bore the hell out of you and everyone else, even those that are participating and saying exactly the same thing they said last week and the week before in the exact same arguement or b) disappear from the first page faster than a very fast thing. A cheetah perhaps or unladen swallow.

I have noticed writerly threads stay up longer in the Story Feedback board (or was it the Story Discussion Board?) There were some good ones there a while back discussing exposition, action, writerly subjects like that. I have no idea if they've been purged, or if they're still there, perhaps hidden away in a closet.
