Thread-killing and thread hi-jacking are not uncommon on Lit. It's usually best to ignore them, and try to outlast them; they're mostly looking for attention and will give up after they see it has no effect. Definitely don't engage with them; that's what they're looking for. One does need a thick skin on a public forum.

Generally, I'd agree and would have totally ignored the dipshit except that 2 thread-posters were also attacked, and as @Statius mentioned above, again I do agree, that our own thread is like our own house, and I'm gonna protect it and all who so kindly contribute their time here, they should feel safe posting here.

As a side note, there was a subsequent now-deleted post where he called me a name, then ran away to another thread to call me yet another name.
That must have made him feel so powerful.

I was thinking of starting my own thread but every time I go to one of these, it seems there's always people derailing it or posting things outside of the OPs intention, is it just me? I see a ton of rude comments (not just here but in other threads just like it); the comments get mean, rude, sarcastic; the jokes are personal and mean spirited.

I feel like if I had my own thread it would kinda be like my house, if that makes sense, I mean you create it, you set the tone, you set what it's about- I wouldn't want to be the one eff that up, seems rude and in my opinion, says a lot about the people who do that. So short question after a long rant, is it worth it to have your own thread?

Keeping an open and positive mind, we can build a community where we can learn from and support each other.
I think that's important especially in today's world.
Why be negative when we can be positive?
Power doesn't come from bringing others down.

Hello there. A frustrating week with lots of work, but what has gone well has been all the blossoms and flowers in the local parks - one of the most beautiful times of the year.

I know most people don't have what I have achieved in life. But I brought the park to the house. With 22 acres you can do a lot of different rooms if you will over the landscaping. I have the English, American, and now I a planning a Asian garden. This one will be my Jewel of the garden rooms. Since it will be the anchor on the entire soul region of the pond. And it will host a bridge from the east and west ends of that Asian garden. My sister in law is from the Filipino islands, N I want a part of her heritage n culture to exist here. So, yes, I am about to travel to her homeland. And she can show me where she grew up and their home there. An I will bring it back here. Seeds will grow and make Filipino alive here.
