Looking in the greater Seattle area

Couldn't let that be he last word on Western Washington :) I'm born and raised all over the area, in Silverdale visiting family now, live in Bellingham though, and both Port Townsend and Oak Harbor have been called home in the past...you're right though, we all sure are quiet on this side of the state ;)

Either they all are quiet or they are all busy, lol. I was not born here but have lived most of my life here and mostly in the greater Seattle area.

I think a good mix of quiet and busy :) where are a few of your favorite spots in the city? have you been on the new waterfront wheel yet?

No I have not been on it yet but I plan on it one day soon. I like more out of the city. When I am downtown I like Pike Place market, the water front, love to take ferry rides when it is clear and sunny. The view can be breathtaking. I like to take lots of outdoor pictures as well. Not great at it but I do enjoy taking them.

It's truly a gorgeous place to live :) water, mountains and forest all in one 360 view.
I prefer out of the city places too, though Seattle is great fun for a day or two.

Yes it is and I like to go downtown and enjoy it when I am taking a visitor out the most. Or sometimes over to the coast or up to the mountains. Lots of different things to do depending upon what one likes to do.

So what brought you here? To Seattle and to Lit? I'm always curious about backstory :)

Well I moved here when I was 2 with my parents and have been here since then for the most part. Spent some time in the Marines and lived with my dad a few years in upper Michigan which I liked as well. Just not as much as here.

I came to lit a few years back and read some of the stories. Then found the boards and chat to people here and there. I like to meet people from all over and from this area as well. I have learned a lot about different parts of the world. Oh and don't leave out the possible sex from time to time, lol.

What brought you here (to lit) and what keeps you in the area?
Born and raised here, lots of family is still in the area, everyone but my dad (he's stuck back east), and adore this side of the state. Lit appeals to my love of personal stories, and there's much to be learned from writers who claim to be writing fiction :) I love learning about people in general, and paired with the site content, well, it's just more interresting!

Cool caught that a bit from you're profile as well.

Another sunny day here in the Seattle area. Wonder how long this can last, lol. hope everyone is doing well and had a good weekend :)

I live in Oregon but get to Seattle as much as I can - absolutely love it!! Looking for a fun guy to show me around the city sometime though :)

Hi, great to hear you love the area. You will have to let me know when you are coming up sometime. I can show you whatever you would like to see. I also think Oregon is a great place to visit. I took a trip along the coast from California to Seattle a few years ago and camped out along the way. It was wonderful and one of my best trips ever.

The Seattle/Oregon coast is gorgeous. It's interesting how different it is from California, especially farther down. I spent some vacation time just road tripping around Western Washington last month (Olympic National Forest, the coast, etc) and it was so beautiful. This area of the country has so much natural beauty to offer :)

Not sure the next time I'll be up there. I'm hoping to be able to make it to HUMP again this year. I went for the first time last year and actually met Dan Savage - it was so awesome and I'm doing everything in my power to be able to make it back this year :)

Yes I agree how much of a difference there is on the southern coast of California compared to how it is in the northern part and upwards. I like to take pictures outside and capture natures bueaty and took a lot of them on my trip. I am not great at taking them but did get some wonderful ones. Sometime I can share them with you if you want.

I do hope you make it to that and if not whenever you do get a chance to be in the area let me know. If you want you can PM me or my email is in my profile. Would love to chat some with you if you are up to it sometime.

Hope you had a wonderful day :)

Nady,

About three weeks ago I went to see the King Tut exhibit at the Seattle Center and it was fantastic. This is its last tour stop before it returns to what's left of Egypt. It would be a good way to spend a few hours on a rainy day. : )

I see the tickets go on sale for that on October 2nd. Which one are you trying to go to, the one in Seattle or Portland?

So is everyone doing? Hope you all had a good weekend and did lots of fun things. Yes that means hope you got some, lol.

Wow tomorrow is October already. Starting to get dark earlier and earlier which sucks unless you have someone to snuggle with. Anyone want to come snuggle? I promise to keep you nice and warm.
