That is a very insightful question my good man. Am I happy now? I need to think on this one...

I am having fun of course, but am I happy.... no. I'm sure I will be in the future, but not yet. I still have a very steep mountain to climb after a long fall down it, but I feel that I am half way there. Thanks for asking though!

An update

Well I did promise you all (y'all) an update on my burgeoning social life in the real world.

I have now been on three dates with three seperate ladies. Just a drink or lunch mind you, no funny business! The first was a disaster only because I just didnt like her. I'm not being cruel, I just didnt find her attractive physically, mentally or emotionally. But that was weeks ago and I considered it a dry run.

The second was last Sunday with a lady I met on a dating web site. She is beautiful (the most beautiful woman I have ever been out with), very intelligent and way out of my league! But we sat and talked for 90 minutes and I had a great time. She has agreed to see me next Friday (8 days away).

Last night I met No.3. She is pretty and clever, she has a good job and doesnt seem to take life too seriously like all of us on this here thread. Within 20 minutes of meeting her I was completeley relaxed and laughing. It was a great 2 hours! She is off on holiday next week for 2 weeks but we agreed today to meet again upon her return. I went to give her a kiss goodnight on the cheek, but she went for the lips making an awkward moment but I felt an old familiar thrill run through me!

I cannot go into any gory details as there are none yet! I feel my confidence returning slowly, I can see light at the end of the tunnel!

My children live abroad with their mother. They are flying in for a week long visit tomorrow so I will be putting myself on the back burner and concentrating on them. Thats not to say that I wont be on line tomorrow though!

Thanks for all the support that you have given me. Somebody once said that you can measure a man by his friends. I think that I would measure up pretty well!

Well that'n we here in the Waller t'aint that sophistcated lessn' it happens ta' do with still or the back seat o' the 'maro, I got elected ta' splain your cunumdrum ta' Betty lu's uncle-cousin-step-son-grandfather in New York City, Disco Denny. (Fer some reason seems I'm the only one here Denny understands.)

Anyways, and like y'all over there, he's one of 'em cos-mo-pol-i-tan type city slickers, (an no Ms N&T, this here's a man thang), and seems he has some suggestions fer ya' to do w' each o' the ladies. Fer the first lady he thought ya' ought to take her ta' a parkin' garage, (preferably without alphabetized parking spaces), an' stead of payin' fer drinks give her 5 quid an' have her put her head in yer lap, taint quite sure what fer, but Dennie says you's smarter n us and can figure that out. Fer the 2nd one he suggests droppin' a bundle on her specially w' drinks an sumptin' called x-t-z, anyway agin he figures ya knows what he means, then sumptin 'bout takin' her backs to yer place and I guess makin' a cute home movie which'n he figures ought ta' fetch a fare price on the internet,

Now unfortunately, Denny seems a little less'n clear on the lass one and kept a asking z'actly where she was goin' on her vacation an' seemed out right mad when I couldn't tell him that...

Anyway Dennie being a so-phis-ti-ca-ted slicker likes you an EA, I thoughts his advice mightn' be o' some use ta ya.....always interested in yer well bein'...and good job so fer and best o' luck in the future....

Disco Denny sounds like a wise experienced man when it comes to the ladies, I sure could learn a lot from him. Unfortunatley I seem to be getting out of control again. I just can't seem to stop myself! My kids fly back on Friday morning and now I have a date for Friday night and another one on Saturday with a night away in a hotel! If I was heartless and could treat women mean it would be easy but I'm just too soft. I'm getting into a mess!

I tried yoga for years... but I admit, I never got to the self origami stage. Maybe I was paying too much attention to my instructor and not her teachings.
