As someone who has to deal with a lot of correspondence for a living I can confirm that those who actually read things, understand what they have read and respond appropriately are very few and far between.

Not many do...the general assumption seems to be that if you are on lit there is only one conversation topic you are interested in. Quite happy to share words with you, pretty bored with the cyber sex scene, more interesting conversation would be welcome.
