I tried using the Volunteer Editor's Program Page listings to find someone, but after sending a few a couple days ago, ever since then, it just pops up a "too many requests" message. If the purpose is to send one message and wait to see if someone responds and then send another one after you don't receive a reply, days later, finding an editor could take weeks. I don't want to wait that long if I can help it. Anyway, on to my post.

I have a story I would like to receive some editing and general feedback for.

The story isn't super long, and I don't believe there is a lot of help needed (but you know how you look at something a million times and swear it is perfect, then as soon as it is "too late" you see all the problems?).

The story is written from a woman's perspective, and I am not a woman, so I need to know if it "feels" authentic. If not, what kind of language or phrasing could I alter to get closer to that?

I am also trying to find the right Category, Tags, Title, and Short Description so any help with that would be appreciated.

More or less the story is about a woman who starts following a local band. One night she attends a house party at a band member's home, and ends up in the bedroom, being shown off, played with, and then finger fucked in front of the whole band.

So, right now, I have it in the "Exhibitionist & Voyeur" Category, but I don't know if that is the best place. The Tags I have so far are: Fingering, Teasing, and Group. But again, those are freeform and I am not sure if they are the best.

Any editing help you could provide would be very appreciated. Reach out via a direct message and we can figure out the "how".

Thank you.

Add more info to your request. You say "isn't super long"- but what does that mean? So a word count is a place to start. Not knowing the correct 'category' isn't any big deal but knowing what is NOT in it might be, such as non-con or incest, or DBSM.
Plus the medium you use, such as WORD or GOOGLE.
These things are basic with editing requests and will help you in your search for an editor.

Thanks for the advice.

Word Count: ~5400

I described what the story is about, so definitely not non-con or incest. The stuff happens in front of others, but they are kind of all in on it, which is why I wasn't sure if "Exhibitionist & Voyeur" was right, because that seems more displaying or peeping to me.

As far as my medium, I generally just write in Notepad++, but I can dump it into Word or Google or pretty much whatever the editor prefers!

Hello.
It seems I have the same issue.
But can anyone confirm that there's a limit to the number of requests that constitutes "too many requests"?
And what would technically trigger down the request counter, given that none of the three editors contacted responded? Thank you.

i don't believe there is any site imposed limit. If you are still getting that message go through the editors list and send them to them directly.

What do you mean by "directly"? "Contact author" option in their profile? I believe this method of contact is against the rules, isn't it?
So, my question is still open. I'd not like to bypass any issue w/o understanding it.

You can contact editors using the PM feature (envelope, top right of this page), or via Feedback if you go to their account.

At the end of every story on the site there is a link to send an author direct feedback. You can use that if you see them on the editor thread as an editor past or present, or ask if they know of an editor. It is a blind link so you don't see their email address unless they chose to email back to you, which they can do or simply chose not to do. I don't think that breaks any rules as I get those emails myself occasionally.
