I am looking for a story where a man is a prisoner or captive of some sort, he is launched to another planet. On the planet he finds another person who was a part of this and they explore the world and find signs of an alien race, like buildings and such but not other beings.
They eventually stay in one of the buildings and the building clones the woman. In the end they find a spaceship or build one with the cloners, something like that, and they go back to earth, all three of them.
