An excellent example is Al Steiners A Perfect World. Not sure if it is here at Literotica but if not you can find it elsewhere. It's about a helicopter pilot who is shot, goes into a coma, and wakes up in the future on Mars.

Shameless self-promotion:

Express Delivery and The Rembrandt Legacy seem to be highly regarded by the SF crowd. Twin Suns of Atlantis: Dorgon is more body horror and fantasy, but it has strong ties to the rest of my sci-fi universe. The Fading Stars story arc needs to be finished, but if you don't mind a freaking cliffhanger at the end, have a go at it as well.
