Hello Litsters everywhere.

I'm a guy from the UK and in my mid 40s.

I'm a massive music fan, rock and metal predominantly. I listen to music more than watch TV. I go to gigs, concerts, festivals and even play in a band.

Through my life, music has been the one constant that has never let me down. It's comforted me when I'm down, it's helped me to blow off steam when I'm angry. And when I'm happy it's been right there for me to enjoy. I think it's safe to say I wouldn't be here if it weren't for music.

So, who here feels the same? Do we have any other rockers in? What's your favourite band?

And, has music led you to meet your person? I'm still looking for my musical soul mate. Maybe she's here... hopefully.

Iron Maiden fan here! I love also fantasy metal. I'm 38. And, yea while I didn't meet my partner at a concert, my love for music connected us. But it was our love for books that truly connected us!

Love me some Maiden. As a drummer I was sad to see Nicko go, the man is a legend. But he did the right thing.

Metal guy here. Didn't meet e
Wife through music but it was a criteria for dating, could handle disinterest but not hating it. She goes to most shows. Saw Maiden a bunch of times, Sabbath on 1st reunion and the end tours. Survived the satanic panic (and I was a gamer too!). 57 and got 2 coming up and waiting for a 2026 fest to go on sale. About only styles I don't get into is black and the "cores". Mostly doom and epic guy but also prog and speed. Classical if it's got something with some punch to it at some point.

Did you go to the last show of Ozzy? God I miss him already…

Nah, could have paid for the stream but like things live (I'm in the US). I wasn't really surprised at his passing but the timing of it. When i heard the ticket prices along with "for the fans" something smelled off to me. At least they got to play together.

Well it all went to charity and paying for most of the bands. Ozzy himself and most of Black Sabbath didn’t get paid. It’s why not all the members were happy…

Love me some metal. Know someone who found his gf via online chat. Both also like metal. So yeah it happens. They're together for decades.

Ozzy was an absolute legend. But whenever Sharon is involved you know something money related was going off.

That was a massive weekend in Birmingham. The Ozzy gig kind of overshadowed that ELO were performing in the same city on the same night doing their farewell tour.

🤘🏻Saw Metallica back in '92...
Godsmack , Rob zombie, some others in my late 20s🤘🏻

listening to 80s/90s alternative and heavy metal was my thing, still is at times...

Rock fan...
I liked early Maiden but couldn't get on with their later stuff...
Same with Rush, I'm afraid...

Lost count of the times I saw AC/DC, with both Bonn Scott and Brian...
First time was for about £0.80 at Bristol Colston Hall...
At Pool, in Dorset at the end of the gig, we sat on the band's Range Rover chatting with Malcom & Angus for a short while...

Saw Loads at Reading Festival in the late 70s and early 80s, Monsters of Rock with AC/DC...
Was there for both venues when Slade stole the show (another band I've lost count of the times I've seen them).

Saw Def Leopard before they were famous, Cheltenham Town Hall, £0.50, the following week they were at No.1 and wanted £2.00....

Also saw the next AC/DC - Rose Tattoo.... absolutely brilliant live....
Blackfoot, also...
Budgie, dozens of times as they toured with loads of other bands.
The Pirates on their own and when they backed AC/DC - Plus The Feelgoods... With Lee Brilleaux & Wilco Johnson and beyond in their various re-incarnations....
Dire Straits... Gary More (many times - including once with BB King) on his own and with Thin Lizzy.
Dio... Micheal Schenker... Hawkwind (without Lemmy).
Motorhead at Reading with Status Quo.
Never saw Van Halen, but love them... I did see David Lee Roth at Wolverhampton thought - Brilliant gig, backed by the aging Thunder.

The absolute brilliant Bernie Marsden, many times, on his own, and in 'Nest of Snakes' (whitesnake).

My not so claim to fame was being in a dirty sleazy dive of a biker club in Stroud in the very early 80s, where they bottled U2 off stage (they were rubbish back then)... Bono vowed never to play in England again...

Saw so many great biker bands over the years, including Dumpy's Rusty Nuts and The Hamsters (in various forms).

I far prefer to watch a good cover band in a sweaty dive now over a major name in a large venue.
I was lucky to catch the surviving Ramone's drummer and his band in one, absolutely wild - Labotomy... all the great chants,...

Wish I's seen more, probably forgotten more than I'd like to admit...

Blues/rock, rhythm & blues, hard rock, glam rock, progressive rock, heavy rock, metal, heavy metal, NWOBHM; there have been so many names over the years.

I am from Bristol, my favourite group are these they are a Mexican 3 real sisters rock band
I have seen them live on every UK Tour 4 times so far
if you like them then you rock!! 🤘
Lucie...
Been to 'The Fleece' many times and Colston Hall to see so many bands... Plus your O2.
The new charges and labrynth of parking and one way systems put me off going now a days...

Love my metal. Testament exodus overkill. You need to check out doublin death patrol. I recently got into German metal.

Yes know what you mean the streets are crazy these days
The Fleece is a great place to go had some great nights there :)
It used to be so easy !
Saw AC/DC several times at Colston Hall..
And Slade...
First went to the Fleece to see John Ottway but saw many bands there...
Love the closeness there...
Saw Phillip Sayce there last...
Vintage Trouble also, where the singer danced and sang along the bar...
Hells Bells several times there...
I've list count.
They've used a church near the M32 / st Pauls a few times also...
Plus a rave wharehouse behind the railway station...

Ooer, Ska... Never seen any live...
Except once in London, at the Dublin Castle... Great fun.
I meant to return to see Phillip Sayce in November along with a friend from Brizzle but missed him...
Got to love LOUD guitar playing...

Hi I'm from Birmingham 49 I went to my first gig at the age of 10 I saw iron maiden at Birmingham Odeon November 1986. I've now seen maiden 15 times, recent gigs include Turnstile twice this year amazing, favourite bands I have seen are Tool, Deftones, Sabbath both with Ozzy and Dio, Beastie boys. All in all I have seen over 900 bands and shows and numerous festivals. Worst ever festival Glastonbury the pits! Worst band/act seen...Jimmy Nail correct him he supported the Corrs and was like listening to a goose farting in the fog😂

Saw Slade in Birmingham, maybe the hippadrome or something... So close to their home in Wolverhampton at Christmas.
It was packed, every seat in the house..
When they played 'Everyday'... The whole audience sang along leaving Noddy Speachless...

Saw AC/DC also ay christmas there.. they started in pitch black, just the ted dots of the amps... A spot cought Angus skipping along the tops of the row of amps at the back of the stage, brushing past christmas trees up there... He jumped down and went straight into bad boy boogie... geez the place went wild...

Recently saw Rode Tattoo at the O2 there...

Saw Gary Moore in the centre with BBKing.. The place people get confused with the NEC, long before either of them died...

Some great places to see bands...
