Read it about 2 yrs ago, probably published long before that.
The story is about a 18yr old Boy that his mom has him babysit for a nieghbor. Later on the guy finds out that the wife can be put into a state of trance when shown a ruby/sapphire/emerald that he finds in a cabinet/hutch drawer. Many years prior, the wife had been a magician's assistant, and had been hypnotized to fall into an obedient trance when shown the ruby/sapphire/emerald.
Next is obvious: He later uses said ruby/sapphire/emerald for le sexy time.
