As for The Pillow Book, I'd say 'interesting in a good way.' The director, who is probably best known for 'The Cook, The Theif, His Wife, and Her Lover', is very painterly with his cinematography. The story is a tragedy of sorts, but is also very sexually charged.

It would be a good 'date nite' movie.
