I've been working on a story since late March. It's done for most purposes, but I'm past the point of being able to read it effectively.
The story is titled "Love is Enough." It's an erotic romance about an aspiring playwright and two dead whores, and it takes place almost entirely inside a theater. The story is a little over 29K words divided internally into 11 chapters.
I need beta reader(s) to give me input on pace, continuity, and overall impressions. The story uses 1920's slang, and if that's too much then I'd like to know. I'm also looking for input on which category to post in, and how.
I think the editing is probably sufficient for Lit readers, so I'm not looking for an editor. But, if there are glaring problems, then I'd appreciate knowing about them.
I originally planned a shorter story to go into the NonHuman category, but Gabby and Hannah had their way with me. "Novels and Novellas" is now my leading category candidate. I'd love to be able to put it into Romance, but it's a ghost story and probably breaks too many Romance rules. Your input and suggestions would be appreciated.
I also have not made a final decision about whether I will post it in a single chunk, or break it into five parts. Again, input would be appreciated.
I use LibreOffice and can provide a copy in any common format. If you're interested, please contact me via PM.
