Hey. Looking for a writer to do what I can't. Write haha. Basic story is my g.f is a nurse atm but does some modeling as a side gig. She wants to become famous and gets drawn into the world of porn. She goes to an audition thinking nothing of it. She's done it it hundreds of times but this time it's different. Well, if it was 100% realistic it wouldn't really be all that fun to read would it? If it was 100% realistic, the person would probably just do it in real life rather than read about it. Hence why 1 on 1 romance stories of husband and wife who love each other are the least favorited stories and the least read stories.

have you checked the cuckold section? What you're describing is a cuckold story and there are tons of them. Maybe that have that scenario you are looking for?

Well, if it was 100% realistic it wouldn't really be all that fun to read would it? If it was 100% realistic, the person would probably just do it in real life rather than read about it. I see this kind of attitude in a large number of Lit. "writers"... "real life can't possibly be interesting". To me, that's a thin argument designed to avoid a the need for a certain amount of hard work.

Maybe real life can't be the kind of falsely "interesting" parody that SF or fantasy brings to the table. Yes, of course, much more interesting for a guy to come home from work and put his di-lithium gigawatt sprangificator on the table rather than a hat...

On the other hand, let's not forget that readers - at least those possessed of a few brain cells - will tend to enjoy a story which allows them a sense of it actually occurring, i.e. that it entices them in to a belief in the truth of it. And this, needless to say, can only be done by basing it around the common, shared experience of author and reader.

That's where the work, the craft and, above all, the imagination lie... IF the writer has any...

That really is not how writing works.

In essence, an author is a con artist at work. We write stories (whether short or novels) using both fact and fiction to write a story that has some semblance of credibility. The more far fetched the story is, the greater likelihood that the reader will get pulled out of the narrative. For fantasy, that can be a good thing as readers expect that, but for erotica, the more believable, the better.

But to be a con artist? As harsh as that sounds... yeah that is what we do as writers. We create fake settings, of fake people, doing fake things, and yet when done well, it all seems complex and believable. There are many ways to accomplish this, but the true key to writing skill is knowing what to leave out, not what is left in. A lot of that is realities of life. Readers do not want that. That is way Literary naturalism had such a short tenure as an era.

Thankyou for all the replies. I understand it's typically realistic but it's not supposed to be completely. If anyone's interested in maybe talking about it more then pm me. I'm not a writer and get that there are things about writing this kind of literature escape me.

Let's try to break this down in a an attempt to make this believable;

1. wife is currently a nurse and does some modeling on the side. Okay, that's legit side work.
2. wife wants to be famous and chooses porn star as the path. This gets to be a bit deeper; how would an average husband react to this idea? (not very well IMO) As a nurse, how does she overcome her concerns that soon she'll be seen by others, perhaps friends, co-workers, neighbors and family? Has she researched the handling of sexual disease and such? Would a nurse rim a stranger's ass?
3. How much "fame" does an average porn actor get? That fame can also be seen as shame by a lot of people.
4. IMO, the actual story, the emotional part involves a number of people. Obviously the husband — what does he think about her new vocation? < this could go two ways; he likes it — or the shame & humiliation causes a divorce.

In short, this scenario above is creating a disaster in their marriage.

What if you approach it from a different angle? What if your wife did these things before you knew her? What if you married her not knowing any of this? But, your love for her, while bruised by the discovery, is still strong for her despite what you know about her now? I don't view this as a cuckold situation, and as you're user name suggests — you are in a swinger lifestyle. < Does that open a door to a more realistic scenario? You both already enjoy a swingers party on occasion, and her old porn clips can be something you both enjoy watching on occasion. Perhaps you even share some of her old porn scenes with a close friend or two — making the swinger connection even stronger.

The one loose thread is the chance of discovery by other family members. But, that too can be softened since all you'd have to do is say; "Wow, I'm sorta shocked that you watch porn Aunt Carol. (wife's name) did all that to pay her way through university, which I think was both brave and unfortunate. Not everyone has the easy path money can buy. I'm glad you asked me about this, but I do hope you'll exercise the kindnest we've all grown to love and admire. Really, this is no one's business but mine and my wife's."

I could write this. Y'all are overcomplicating

I agree some of these replies are a little harsh. Maybe its not your cup of tea, but its a plausible situation. Ifnit wasn’t, myspace and xhamster and all the other sites wouldn’t exist.

I can see this as a story with a little more figuring out the plotline. Would be an easy write.
