Looking for a story that begins with kids assuming mom's in charge, but she reveals that she's submissive to their father

I started reading a story and got interrupted and now I cannot find it. I didn't get far. I recall that it was written in first person with the narrator describing his parents' relationship. Growing up they assumed mom was in charge. She seemed to set all the rules and the father went along with whatever she said. But she reveals that the father is dominant and she's actually submissive. She says that he makes all the big decisions and implies that she's submissive n the bedroom. I have no recollection where the story was going from there.

I've googled and searched unsuccessfully. It started quite like "MOM IS DOMINANT, MOM IS SUBMISSIVE" but there was definitely a point very early in the story where mom says something like "You thought/think I was in charge, the truth is..." and reveals that she's not in charge.
