Looking for a proof reader

I have posted a number of reasonably well received stories, but every time I re-read one I find a couple or more mistakes. I know that I really should get someone to proof read them first. I have approached editors from the lists but they have never replied, or don't reply once I send them drafts.

So I am looking for a reader who will be reasonably prompt in providing checking. I am not in need of story ideas, although would be interested in comments on character development. Motivation of my characters is important. Ideally I am looking for a woman who could also help tailor my stories to a more balanced audience, perhaps give me some insight into what women find erotic.

There are a couple of things my characters did that I regret now. Which is funny really.

You're not really looking for a proofreader then (comparing old to new copy and just noting the differences). You're probably looking for a beta reader (a pair of fresh, no preconception eyes--which can be very useful)--but when you got to the point of asking for help with the content, you zipped right up to developmental editor (and beyond copyeditor). Regardless, hope you find the help you need.
