Look what I found.

I have the lamb that I was given when I was born.
It used to be fluffy and white.
There's a music box in the stomach that doesn't work anymore.
Years ago my mom had to sew a patch over it to keep that in.

I also have a doll called Tammy...similar to a Barbie doll.
She was cheaper, though. ;)

I had a "Tammy", too.

I have a mechanical dog that was an Xmas present when I was 4. The fur's pretty rough but it still works! Runs around, sits up and begs and yips. It was made in Occupied Japan. :D

I have a toy china tea set from Occupied Japan. It was my first set. I have an entire collection that sort of happened over the years. I now have 8 or 9 toy china tea sets, including a lovely one that was recently sent to me by a very sweet couple we all know who recently went to Europe.

Thanks, guys. XXX

I remember (reluctantly) having tea parties with my girl cousins as a quid pro quo for them playing baseball with my bud's and me so we'd have 2 teams. :D

In my place are a train set from my father. (He was givne them when he was a child.) They have been fully restored and work. The engine and two cars sit on a shelf over my desk. Fifty feet of track for them, several more cars and the controller sit in a closet.

My wife still has the stuffed bear she was given when she went in for her first back surgery at 6 years old. It sits on the bed when we are up.

In my dresser sits the first pocket knife I was ever given. (I was 6 and the knife was given t me by my great grandfather.)

Scattered around the place are several other items that hold great meaning to me.

Over the TV is a sabre carried by a relative in the first world war. In the safe are the Luger and the Colt .45 carried by relatives of mine during the second World War.

Around my wrist is a silver bracelet worn by my family for many generations.

In my closet sits the first rifle I ever owned. (A .22 bolt action)

In my wifes jewelry box hangs a necklace given to me by my first wifes father when I buried her. (We had been married less than a year, much less than a year.) She wore it at all times.

So I'm a packrat.
