Her kindergarten class hatched baby chicken eggs.. and each kid gets a day to take them home.. isn't it cute! We have 6 of them, and their incessant chirp chirp chirp is kinda annoying, but it reminds me of spring... :D

Awwww. I hatched 35 eggs in an incubator in my kitchen last spring. That 'chirp chirp' starts while they're still in the eggs, which is kinda cool. :)

Just be thankful you get to send 'em back. The chicks I hatched last year, in addition to the 25 that I mail ordered, lived in my upstairs bathroom for 6 weeks. Not pretty.

these chicks are so cute.. little black and gray puffballs.. right now they're sleeping one on top of the other under the heat lamp :)

When I was in the fourth grade, we raised a couple chicks, from egg to adulthood. Each one of us got to take the chick home for a weekend (after our parents and the teacher okayed it).

I remember My Weekend with the Chick as just really cool. My folks remember it as a time of noise and stench. They still talk about it to this day.

But you know I'd do it all again. ;)

my in-laws raise chickens and my three old loves them when they are small and fluffy, but once they grow up it is a totally different story....*L*

This is so true lol

We still have the only chick that hatched before Christmas in my dining room with her mother, she'll be going outside with the rest of them as soon as most of the snow is gone....
