get a mental picture of where other lit members are is it in the country ,city ,hot, cold, in jail , underground , on top of a mountain are you at work or at home

To kick off:

It is about 10.00am UK - at work ( yawn ) 7 th floor of office block. It is a foggy/nondescript day here in a small town in Kent ( ment to be the garden of England !! ) not raining is the only plus

I NEED SOME SUN

When I look out my window I am greeted by the pastural views of my parking lot and my neighbors back yard which is full of junk... how lovely.

It's almost 6am and it's very dark and raining. I just have this feeling it's cold out too. Wish I could crawl back in bed for the day.

I see a lot of darkness. I see suburbs that stretch on pretty much endlessly. I see the trees and vines that grow almost wildly in our yard. I see my best friend's car still abandoned in our driveway and the empty space where my car ought to be. It's warm night in Alabama, and I would be attacked by a million bugs if I opened the door. I see our neighbors with pristine lawns and new cars.

It's 3:50 right now.

At 4:07 am...

It's warm, but raining... dark enough for street lights, but light enough to see the road as you drive home (were your headlamps to simultaneously explode). Quiet. Only the sound of the falling rain to listen to.

PS Gord: I, for one, sleep at my own risk.

10.09 a.m
The view over the garden hedge.
6 cows digesting breakfast, 4 calfs playing tag. Three full grown oak trees just coming into leaf. The far hedgerow. A couple of hundred sheep in pursuit of a farmer with several bags full of feed. Then the ground rising upwards, till it vanishes into the mists.

3:14 AM

A very quiet street setting.. lit by a few lights overhead, but mostly covered in darkness. Street lights flashing in the downtown streets a few blocks away.

A lone porch light is on in the house across the street.. Reminds me of ow my old home would always have a light on late at night.. My mom leaving it on waiting my return home from a late night.

Ah Wales where men are men and sheep are nervous:

That was just a purile joke Myrrdin - and I am sure you have heard it 1000 time s before - just the mental image of the poor farmer being chased by 100 sheep !!

it just turned six am and it's still dark...my house is tucked back in the woods and surrounded by live oaks and cedar trees...to my left i can see the lights of my sister's house, my closest neighbor..on the right is my brother's land but no houses there...the fellow behind me has chickens and the roosters are talkin' it up at the moment...about 20 yards from my front porch is a clearing with a little corn feeder that the deer will be coming to shortly...they haven't dropped their fawns yet this year but it should be any day...have coffee on the front porch with me and you'll see why i'm seldom, if ever, in a bad mood..

11;14 pm-----------Outside is darkness over a vast vacant lot that from tomorrow on will be filled with earth movers......Making space for some new neighbours......The glow from the not too distant city lights the sky to the east....The rest is stars,,,,,

A beautiful spring morning

All the flowers blooming
AAAHHCCHHOOOO!
Bright blue sky
Trees filling up with green leaves
AAAAHHHHCCCHHOOOOOO!

Springtime!

Although a person can't see wind, one can see the effects, which I am definatly seeing! Bluejays, cardinals, red winged black birds, earlier, a rabbit grazing on the grass in the front yard. Trees, grass, and flag waving in the wind.

LRC, beautiful picture of that lilac, my favorite smell of spring. Mine never do well, though, so I usually miss out.

Some little goldfinches just joined the group.

8:01 am

9am
2 large maple trees, large popular tree, a dogwood out of bloom, the remnents of last nights election, and too much traffic for what is supposed to be a relatively rural area

8:20am
A pasture with 2 beautiful trees, several houses in the distance, my son's bike that he didn't put away anda gorgeous sky with the sun trying to peek through the clouds.

I live up high, on the 17th floor. I can see the rows of streets and houses and trees all the way down towards the river, and across the river in the distance, I can see into Canada. I like that, being able to see two different countries out my window.

The sun is shining brightly here in the 'hills' of West Virginia, too high green grass, the mountains surround me. My puppy chasing down bunnies and deer, after a quick dip in the river. My lil home is secluded enough so that when I walk outside in my only t-shirt and panties I don't worry anyone will look out their window and see me.

Ahh I love WV :)

Go for it Mountain Mama

The sun is shining and there is a gentle breeze blowing here in south GA. My home sits at the crest of a hill so when I look out the front windows I see all of the azaelas, gardenias, camilias, honey suckle, and wildflowers that are blooming, towering magnolia trees, virgin pines, live oaks and water oaks, tulip poplars, and hickory trees. There is a 6 acre span between my home and the bottom of the hill where a 3.5 acre pond is. I see all of these things which I see going down the hill reflected back up at me from the surface of the pond.

I do so love living in the country.

Dawn

9:30am CDT

My view is dominated by the Sears Tower. Looking inside and watching the workers go about their daily tasks.

Most days I would prefer the rolling hillsides, trees and natural views listed on the thread.

quite an even mix of townies and good ole country folk.......I feel a poll coming on
