Hey all, I've been a reader of Literotica for a long time. I've finally decided to give erotic fiction a try myself :)

Well I'm working on a story at the moment, and I was wondering what sort of writing inspiration I should read up on? If there is any? Most inspiration that I have are from my own experiences. But I'm trying to broaden and expand my writing, by taking on critique and learning from the writers here.

Please feel free to check out my livejournal and leave your comments on my entries.

Much thanks.

Hello and welcome to the AH, DrFrisky -great name!

My inspiration come from my experiences, though my imagination plays it's part, too :p So just write what you want and enjoy it :D

I get my inspiration from dreams...sometimes the dreams I have when I sleep....sometimes the dreams I have in waking life. Also, I can get inspired by something as small as a whiff of a woman's perfume as she walks by.

My only advice would be to pay great attention to all the details of daily life. Small things inspire.

BTW, Welcome! :rose:

I avoid reading anything in the genre I'm writing in; I find that kind of "inspiration" tends to run periously close to unintentional plagiarism.

Inspiration for me ofen comes from asking "what if..." and looking for the unlikely consequences that could follow from the situation I put my characters into.

A welcome  for the little newbie from the good little witch.

Welcome to the AH, DrFrisky... love that name :)

Inspiration? Good erotica... if you want to read it on Lit, try stuff by Dr_Mabeuse, BlackShanglan, Stella_Omega, Neonlyte, Liar... there's lots more, too, where that came from!

Welcome. :) Reading others' stories certainly helps, but becoming friendly with people here and reading the "How to's" here on Lit helped a great deal, as well.

I stick behind the saying "write what you know." My inspiration doesn't come from anything specific. I'll hear, see, or experience something and a story comes into my head. Years of having an active imagination?

Welcome! I've only been around for a few weeks and the people here are great and they'll give you help when you need it! :cathappy:

Gosh, thanks for the warm replies. I'm looking forward to submitting a story soon. The story that has inspired me the most was called something along the lines of Summer Story. It was great, I believe its still ongoing. Other than that, I take in to account personal experiences, porn, I find that cybering online also helps!

Anyway, thanks for the warm welcome, the kisses and the compliments. Hope to be getting to know all of you peeps and your stories.
