I am the one who was playing and drinking with grandmaster Victor Seignovich at the railroad switch.

I was told later that the Indian player, whom I considered a chess amateur because he couldn't drink vodka, was the famous player Mir Sultan Khan, who for a of couple years was among the top 10 in the world. Since then, I checked him in chess encyclopedias. Even his name was not his but of his master, who brought him to Europe, and equally suddenly took him back to India. He was certainly the strongest illiterate player ever, way stronger than me in the chess department.

Well damn! Then that puts you finally into the category of Senior Citizen, now that you've gone into triple digits!

Let me guess — the secret of your long life — don't die.

Keep having a good and continued long life.

Senna, thank you for this quiet glimpse into your life. I am glad you take the opportunity to chronicle these times for the world.

An interesting story, SJ. May i add my congratulations on the celebration of your 100th. I myself will be 67 in February, which marks at least a good 11 year difference between us.

Oh, yes. Chess. I am a poor player, but hope that I am at least 1.e4 e5 2.Bc4 Bc5 3.Qh5 Nf6 4.Qxf7# and not 1.f3 e5 2.g4 Qh4#.

:)

This is called "fool's mate". You must be good if you make such jokes.

and not 1.f3 e5 2.g4 Qh4#.

:)
And this is rather a help-mate than a genuine game. This motive does appear in certain openings, it's there in the background.
