I've got a urge to go to London again, and it looks like I'll be able to go some time in the spring :)

So now I was wondering if anybody here have some tips for me. I'm looking for:

  • When should I go?
  • What should I see, both the usual places, and the more unsual and/or kinky places?
  • Is anybody interested in a small Lit BDSM gathering?

* When should I go?
- Anytime

* What should I see, both the usual places, and the more unsual and/or kinky places?
- SOHO, you can skip the rest.

* Is anybody interested in a small Lit BDSM gathering?
- Sounds like fun. I'm interested.

Hey, sounds good to me. The one I was trying to plan for Amsterdam seems to have slowed due no doubt to the several interruptions we have had in our lives of late, thus messing up the planning, and as many on the board now are from the UK, seems a good idea to go where the majority are. So who is planning this decadent get together?:D

Is this like a Scandinavian BDSM getogether or are Dutch also allowed?

Francisco.
Anybody that wants to come are welcome!!

My last trip to London included quite a bit of time just strolling around soho, looking at people, on the streets, and in the sex shops! :D

I know London is great any time of the year, but I was just wondering if anybody had any suggestions so I would avoid to much rain, since I will probably go on a couple of guideded walks (www.walks.com).

There are loads of museum and the British History one is free which is great if it rains.

As for a 'must see' it depends on your interests. Lots of the tourist attractions are fun but far, far too expensive.

I have heard the London eye is amazing but yet to go on it, best to go in good weather.

The House of Parliament if your into politics and how the unreal world lives.

As for the BDSM scene, i have no idea. I will ask Him if He knows of any 'not to be missed' favs.

My fav places will always be Chinatown and Soho.

I would love to meet up for a Lit get together but would have to leave the place to meet etc to those who know the London scene.

Hello ShyGuy:

I have gone on walks with http://www.walks.com/. Take the Jack the Ripper tour, it will keep you up at night. I also took the Ye Olde London Pub Walk, Soho in the Morning. I like their tours.

I also perfer shopping at Liberty's of London and not Harrods (it is too commercial). Liberty's is in a great area.

And don't forget to catch a play. Oh and have tea and scones with clotted cream for me please. Thanks

So far I've lost count on how many times I've been to London, and I know I'll keep coming back. Each time I discover new parts of London, which is why I keep coming back.

The last time I was in London was about 1½ year ago, and that was also the first time I went on some guided walks with www.walks.com[/url ], and yes I did...that I'm thinking about it the Queen musical.

I love London anything. I can usually find a relatively cheap place to stay near picadilly...although i have a high tolerance for dives.

As to what see...in terms of kink, Soho

In terms of tourist stuff,

The National Gallery; maybe the third or fourth best art museum in the world.

St. Martins in the Fields has concerts every Wed noon. This is very near the National Gallery. It also has a wonderful cafe.

you can actually go to the house of parliment and sit in on a session. YOu have to wait in line, but it is well worth the wait.

Go to a show...buy your tickets early in the morning at one of the private booths around leister (sp) square.

Do not eat the food! (just kidding)

Covent Gardens on Sat and Sun has great street performers.

The london Eye, the Tower of London, the british museum.

St. Pauls. Get someone who knows British history to take you into the crypt.

Across the river, from St. Pauls is where shakespeare hung out. the old globe is there. The one you can see is a fake....lol

I was just there, so if you have any specific questions, let me know....

Actually the indian food in london is great...and i found a nice vietnamese restaurant around picadilly.

and the blienies (sp) they were good.

Dont eat the sausage....do not eat the sausage...i dont care how gay or perverted you are...do not eat the sausage....

So does anybody have an idea as for where we could meet?

And what dates should we choose? I'm thinking April or May myself.

So far I've seen Grease and Stomp in London, and I'm sure that I'll be going to see other plays there in the future, one that I'm thinking about it the Queen musical.

I saw the queen musical when i was last there...if you can buy into the wildly fantastical supposition that Queen was the prime rock group, then you wil llove it....it was ok...the whole thing was a buildup to the final two numbers....and you probably gues what
THEY were.

No idea at all about meeting places.

April or May sounds like a good time after Easter so prices will have come down slightly.

Its also been known for the weather to show a bit of sun in between the inevitable rain showers in May :)

If in April or May Catalina and I will join you a weekend.

Amsterdam to London is only a 45 minute flight and we would love to meet some of you, although I will skip the shoe shopping part.
