I submitted a story some 8 weeks ago and its still not approved. I have asked 3 editors to look at it and they responded. But only to ask me to send it to them. I have done that but still no response. Any volunteers?

Mike,

8 weeks is an awful long time for a story to be still in limbo. What does it say on your subsmission page? Pending? Nothing? Anything?

Don't know why 3 editors would ask you to send them your story and hear nothing of them afterwards. I don't know those editors and I'm sure you're sick and tired of waiting and probably don't trust editors too much anymore.

My editing plate is full...overflowing even....but I can't let you be in limbo like that and not do anything. Send it to me as LadyCibelle and I promise you'll have it back by monday.

Same Here

I have also submitted a story to three volunteer editors who have consented to editing, but I have heard a response from one. One non-responder was sent the story in May and the other in July. I have since emailed both to no avail. I understand these folks are volunteers, but if you say you will edit a story, then I think you should do that in some semblance of a timely manner. Sounds like not hearing back from editors is pretty common.

I 'm going to give one of the alternate editors listed here a try.

BTW Lady Cibelle the posterior in your av is scrumptious!!

Unfortunately Dagget, you are right. That's a complaint I hear almost every day about editors saying they'll do something and then not hearing about them anymore :( That's the reason why I created the alternate editors' list...so that people could contact editors that say they are willing to work and WILL work without you needing to plead and beg to hear from them again.

I'll recommend to you and anyone else that might read this...to PM (not email) Laurel with a formal complaint about those faulty editors...maybe if enough people complain that people on that list aren't doing what they said they'd do....well just maybe she'll do something about it. A good clean up and/or revision of that list is in order I think.

Thanks for the compliment on the av...I'll let the model know :)

It was rejected due to spelling (!) and strings of more than 35 characters between spaces.

I have proofread the story and several of my friends who read my stories say they cannot fault the spelling or find the string of characters in question. So....

I have had 5 others approved.

Hmmm if you don't mind and you're not sick and tired of editors I'd like to take a look at it.

Just a thought...

How are you sumbitting it to Lit? Cut/Paste or Upload of a file? If you are uploading it, it's possible that the Lit word processor on Lit's end isn't translating the file your word processor wrote. This can happen if you use paragraph breaks or special characters or such.

I would think with your previous five approved submissions, there wouldn't be a problem. Then again, stranger things have happened.
