Just like civil services are not socialism.

The free market thrives and the VA in no way shape or form controls it nor does it own the resources it needs to function. Even the VA itself purchases goods and services over a voluntary market exchange, hiring staff and sourcing medical supplies.

That is the opposite of government control over the distribution of goods and services and means of production.

You really need to go read the link to the encyclopedia....Britannica is a very reputable academic source.

I don't.....I criticize anyone who wants the government nationalizing segments of the economy, arbitrarily capping incomes, controlling/manipulating market access or otherwise being authoritarian to get their assistance. It's illiberal and un-American.

Again....compensation =/= Assistance, compensation =/= welfare, compensation =/= free.

Compensation = shit I get for services I have provided as per the contractual agreement I voluntarily made with the government who represents you the tax payer.
