Local video store in a small town in late 90s/early 2000s is finally getting sold to family friendly mega-chain (Hollywood, Blockbuster, etc.)

Sharon has worked there since college and knows most of the customers and gets along swimmingly with the Mom & Pop owners.

Back room porn is going away but the room itself isn't going away.

Maybe she asks mom & pop owners for this inventory which is getting trashed anyway.

Does she supplement her pay cut (owners paid her as the defacto everything and she was still a bargain. Corp she's a wage slave) by meeting a newfound community need? Did big corp misunderstand demographics and the glossy store front tanks (letting her buy it back for a song with tons of new inventory with her newfound cash) Was this her corporate re-takeover her plan all along? Or set up a competitor across the street and all the old clients follow her to her own shop.

Those wonderful years when video stores put their porn into 'the back room'.

I'd say Sharon makes a deal with her current employers. The new mega-chain won't go above R rated flicks - and they face their current clientele to go 'out of town' - the adult video and toy shop that sits just outside of town boundaries.

She get's the current adult inventory for a song - plus they buy in. Keep they client lists - both the regular customers and a second one. The one's who rented from 'the back room'. Their new video store? Carries obscure hard to find titles in the front - the ones the new owners won't carry but their clients loved to rent. And a MUCH larger 'back room'.

Which perhaps has a lovely female concierge- one who is very knowledgeable about the various genre's available?
