I don't hate Tulsi Gabbard. I think she's a living specimen of what most of America sees as an extinct species, the traditional Democrat open to the discussion of opposing ideas. But she did support Bernie Sanders, so there is an anomaly there in her thinking that bears investigation and concern.

Tulsi campaigned on “Medicare for All.” She might be among what I expect will be a large pool of candidates seeking the Democratic nomination in 2024. She’s very progressive on social programs but differentiates herself from the Warren-Sanders wing of the party on woke movement stuff. There are several Democratic governors who could throw their hats in the ring as well.

I favor everyone who wants to run, running. I just find it entertaining how conservatives vote out strong and smart conservatives in favor of dumb and weak conservatives because of one man. Which actually means nothing. Your argument is that despite her being in near complete lock step with Trump on her voting record but she's losing to a Trump suppoer in a state that went for Trump means she's not conservative.

Religion is one helluva drug. Its not the content of her heart but whether or not she bows before Allah.

I do not favor Cheney running. I think she, like DeSantis and Trump are all similarly evil but Cheney is in the unique position of having fooled a lot of Dems into thinking that she's on our side.

But I am going to presume! Cheney has a voting record which places her firmly on the conservative end of conservatism. Trump on the other hand is a radical populist whose entire political credo, is ego, lies, and bluster - and more ego. A career fraudster, scam artist, and business shyster who hi-jacked the GOP after a lifetime supporting the Democrats. And, like the current President he is much to old for the job.

America needs to get rid of Trump, Biden, and skip at least a generation to have any chance of reasonable leadership from either party.

Honestly I don't think skipping a gen will get us "reasonable" anybody who is really old enough to run grew up in this environment. Many of us, probably on both sides, blame ourselves for being too tolerant of the otherside. I know I do.

I knew EXACTLY why the TEA Party formed not during the 2006 midterms, not in the middle of 2008 but the moment it was obvious Obama not Hillary was getting the nod.

I knew exactly why Birtherism started and why the Right with their 16 going on 30 nominees went for Trump over Cruz, Rubio, Kasich, Bush hell Fiorina, PErry or Romney. It was because none of them spent 8 years looking for a "birth certificate"

I knew exactly why a man who entered the fray speaking about Mexican rapists, murderers and theives was their choice.

Once again, that simply isn't true. Lots of folks called it what it was from the moment Trump declared for the presidency. This isn't an "everybody is to blame" issue.

That's irrelevant to trying to water blame down by saying everyone is to blame. No they are not. Plenty of people raised what flags they were able to from the very beginning (at least back to George Wallace). Saying everyone is to blame is punishing a lot of people unjustly and not properly and fully fingering those actually to blame.

As has been said, Cheney’s voting record speaks for itself placing her squarely in the conservative camp. She just didn’t drink the trump kool-aid and has the courage to publicly call out the orange demagogue and wannabe strong man to stand up for the constitution and institutions. Too bad more of y’all don’t have the balls she has.
