I don't use it because live chat is real time and it interferes with the other things I'm doing while wasting time here.
With the bulletin board, I can away from it every once in a while and I won't have missed anything and people can still "speak" directly to me without feeling as if I'm not paying attention.
That and Vix isn't here.

Once in a while, someone will start a thread tellnig people to go there and attaching a link directly to the chat area, and it can be fun for a little while. People won't go there if they're not asked to specifically for the reason you stated- they'd be the only one in there.

Good hygeine is important for live chat. Make sure you brush your teeth before and after...and wash your mouth out with soap as well.

It's always handy to keep some cleaning materials handy, you never know what might happen in some of there threads.
But I've noticed the same with Chat, so I'm glad you raised it as the answers have been really useful - as you'd expect in the ever friendly halls of Lit.
