Since we all spend soooooooooo much time in front of our computers........i was wondering, what do you keep with in reaching distance next to your computer?

Usually some smokes and a drink or two.....the remote for my home audio system is nearby often as well as the phone so if someone actually calls me.........I can talk.

Any thing and Everything...... you know the wife keeps an Arsenal near by just for me.. :D

The remote, something to drink, my download list for Napster and my video camera to catch my daughter doing cute things.

It would be easier to list what I don't have on my desk...

Pack of Newports, TV remote (Even if I'm not watching it I NEED background noise), a huge glass of milk (Sometimes beer, but usually milk)A notepad to write poems or html or any little spur of the moment inspiration I get that I may need to use on one of my websites, and a huge stack of books in case I get bored during a long download and this board is slow.

Junk naturally stockpiles on my desk. I have a set of bean bags for juggling closest to me right now. Hand lotion, a couple of teddy bears, even a toothbrush. Too many other things to mention.

But what's here for the purpose of convenience?
Phone, dictionary, pens and little notebooks. A coaster for the various drinks I sometimes have here.

I know its disgusting, but i have a nice collection of coke cans in various stages of fullness.

My mother puts all her mail and all the mail the Man puts on her table on my computer desk.

Scanner, printer, mouse pad, mouse, various floppy disks, vacuum cleaner manual, windows manual, CD-R's, bag of candy, glass of Dr. Pepper, wadded up paper towel, TV remote, VCR remote, LOTS of games, phone, corkboard, two calendars, webcam, digital cam, two boxes of envelopes, two magazines, writing paper, post-it's, a little toy I got out of a Kinderegg, a joystick, the complete National Geographic on CD, portable CD player, two music CD's, and a drawer full of pens, pencils, manuals, phone books, calculator, stapler, compass, erasers, staples, pencil sharpener, label maker, rulers, highliters, another label maker, and some colored pencils! *whew* Oh, almost forgot. Paper for the printer, and an envelope of old pictures.

A cow, a calendar, something to drink, another cow, some addidas muscle rub for a whiff of eau de studmuffin, cd software, cd music, another cow, the phone, pencils, pens, highlighters, paper, paperclips, another cow, three english language dictionaries, two korean to english dictionaries, one english to korean dictionary, on hanja to korean to english dictionary, some floppies, another freaking cow, pictures made by my son, books on compter stuff, a few books on sidhe, some books on the lakota, a book on gaelic, three books on algebra, another stupid cow, a mic, speakers, a list of email addresses with no known ownership, the stud's keys (at least today), stuff to play with my hair with, a smutty romance novel, another damned cow, the cat is sleeping on my foot, a stale tostito? wondered where that went. We are including the floor on this one, right? I have no visible desktop.

Mobile phone - the other one is bound to be busy if the computer is on, audio system remote, pens, stacks of other peoples business cards to write notes on, often chocolate and drinks (juice or beer.)

Too much crap.
Pardon me. I meant A collection of eclectic, yet mostly unused items.

My diet pepsi, my thyroid and iron pills, mouse and mouse pad. Various forms and papers for my daycare. Some loose change (mostly pennies) A cup with a holder on it for pens and pencils. The things my daughter brought us back from India, and some film I need to have developed.
