... has anyone else noticed that recently there are quite a few female "virgins" (newbies) with less than a dozen posts and ages not much beyond their post counts?

I know that I am cynical, but it is my radar that goes up rather than anything else.



(BTW "starte" is olde English for start. or would you believe; the advent of a tarte?)

I haven't noticed any real "danger". I didn't see any links or the like... just smelled a bit phishy, if you catch my drift.

The new thing is live spammers. They set up accounts with spam in the first few posts and or some without for later use. Manu has it set up to take links out of new posts automatically so the live spammer is the next new thing in the spam wars.

I saw that someone posted about the odd "jibberish" posts as a sort of sleeper-cell.

I guess, I was wondering if the young vixen profiles might be lures to engage in PMs and then onto some sort of pay-for-it thing?

Seems that no one else noticed.

I have not gone any deeper than a casual observance. Perhaps it has always been like this, I just happened to be cruising about in other areas of LIT.

Most spammers don't invest enough time in the sleepers to keep them from standing out. The people involved are usually drones working in cubicles, and English usually isn't their first language. They almost always come off sounding wooden, if they're not simply repeating earlier posts in the thread, gibberish, or something else just as obvious.

There's always the possibility of a more targeted scheme ( I believe someone suggested pay-for-porn of some kind ) and that's more plausible for posts that don't scream "spam" from the first character. Phishing is always a possibility. This would be a prime place to draw people to something such as a camgirl's website.

Haven't seen any "younger women" posters that have set off my early warning systems, though.
