Why do cats do that? My old cat would be fine on far side of living room if I watched TV. But pick up a book or newspaper and he would come right over and climb on my lap. I wasn't paying him attention before. Didn't even make eye contact.

Nah! He was a TV type. He was riveted to screen when watching Gran Prix motorcycle races. I would push 'his' ottoman close to TV and he would sit for an hour watching them go across the screen. Only two-strokes though. Not four stroke bikes. Very discerning in his tastes.

JD got bad fleas once. Had to bath him. He weighed 20lbs at 1 year old. Arnoldswartzakitty. Had to wear long motorcycle gauntlets and dip him in a 5 gal pail. I feared for my life!
