When I was a little girl, I wanted to be a Navy pilot, thanks to Maverick and Goose in Top Gun. Then, in my teen years, everyone told me I'd make a great attorney. I'm assuming that's because I was always for the underdog, or I had/have an analytical mind. My true dream career was to be a wife and a mother, which is exactly what I got to be, and I was a damn good one at that (even the wife part. I just married the wrong guy, I guess.)

Now, even in mid life, I'm not entirely sure that I won't pursue a degree. If I do, it will be a special education teacher because I absolutely adore children with special needs and I know how much joy it would bring to my life, or a paralegal, simply for no other reasons other than I'd be good at it, I love to work behind the scenes, I'm always thirsty for knowledge, and my uncle was a genius when it came to law, so it's near to my heart.

Can I just interrupt here with my own shenanigans? I'm not savvy enough to post the incredibly sexy gifs that always derail this thread, but my god....THIS MAN! It takes a certain kind of sexy for me, and this....well...this is it!

I told y'all I wasn't savvy. Why is it posting that way? Ugh!

Ever since I was a little girl I have always wanted to be a teacher. I became a teacher and taught elementary school up until moving here to the Midwest. Every single job I've had since I was 16 involved teaching/children in some way. (Except for a telemarketing job I had one summer in college.....lasted 2 weeks because I couldn't take it when people were mean to me on the other line:eek: haha).

Strangely enough now I wish I could be a detective/private investigator .....

Busy day today... Just now checking in this thread.

I wanted to be a baseball player, guitarist or engineer. I became two of them.

I wanted to work at Shotz Brewery with Laverne & Shirley. Sadly, that didn't work out.

I wanted to be a private investigator and a creative writer. Now I do a very specialized type of PI work that involves a lot of creative writing. So...yeah.

Our senses, so key to everything we do. There have been countless discussions around them, so I won't bother here with that. But outside of the five senses, what do you consider key for each day. Maybe it's feeling love, or maybe it's a roof over your head. Maybe it's the voice of your beast friend. What helps you enjoy every day?

Outside of the senses? That's challenging.

Most definitely, feeling love, feeling connected. Remembering that I am whole, embracing both the dark and light, and making a sincere effort to let the light shine outward toward those I encounter.

Taking moments to get still and just be.

Feeling compassion for myself and for others. Sharing myself with others, mainly giving and doing what I can to help, care, and support.

Sitting or standing in the sun, sometimes for only a few moments, but on every sunny day.

Feeling grateful for everyone and everything in my life.

Jogging every day. I don't do it anymore and I didn't realize how much enjoyment it created until I stopped. So, it's a goal. I'm going to have to start back from square one in building my body back up to do it. But first, that's starts in the mind. I'm not there yet but I'm getting there.

And it seems this wouldn't fall outside of the senses, but I'm gonna follow Rainshine and say music, definitely music. I couldn't imagine a day without it.

*morning snuggles with my youngest (gotta happen or I'm not getting out of bed)
*coffee, with cream...the real kind of cream..not that flavored crap (or I don't leave the house)
*music... Daily dose

I think Rainshine and I might be related...lol

Music here too..it is on from the minute I get up in the morning.
Puppy snuggles with my two monsters.
I don't like to move or speak until coffee, so that is a must and lately I have been enjoying
(although I use that word loosely) a morning workout be it the elliptical or yoga..it helps to get me going.
In the afternoon, tea and a few minutes to myself, no calls, no meetings..just peace.

Yes, yes, huge fan of music, cuddles and heaps of chocolate. But the sense of feeling safe and secure is on my list also.
I'll start out simple; having a home, job, basic necessities and food to eat. Basic things that are easily taken for granted.
Going further and knowing I'm blessed that I don't live in an abusive relationship, constant fear of my husband/S0/family member. Not having to walk on eggshells daily, never knowing what might set them off. Hiding bruises and scars (emotionally or physically) from family/friends and putting on a great show of happiness. *hugs to anyone that has endured this*
Thinking more worldwide that I don't reside in a country where targeted violence towards women runs rampant. Or living in the middle of war zone where my very life and my families survival is on a day by day basis.
Maybe a little deep, but I'm one to take the simplest of matters in all sorts of directions.

Hump day bonus topic. Why? Well it's hump day and I feel like it. :D And bonus questions ought to be fun and not so serious, so here goes......

Superman vs Batman, the movie, is coming out soon. Without regard to the movies premise(disclaimer, I don't know what the movie premise is) in that epic battle who would win? And who would you rather be?

I vote Batman all the way. He's got a kick ass car, Yeah Superman can fly but I still like the car. Batman has a cool cave to hang out in, Superman a telephone booth and there aren't any of those any more. The tool belt Batman sports is killer, put in some Krptonite and Superman is a goner.

Batman wins!

um..I'm not a big fan of either of them. They both have singular and narrow minded agendas.

I'd rather The Hulk come in, whoop both of them soundly, then shake his head at their nonsense before hopping away...lol
