For us in the northern hemisphere fall is almost here and winter is right around the corner. Gone will be the days of short shorts and cleavage baring tank tops all in the name of staying warm. The layered look can often times be less than sexy. In the cold months just in front of is, what do you do to stay warm yet be dressed attractively as possible?

It doesn't ever get really cold for really long here. I mean, we never see snow. Temps rarely drop below 25 or so. So, if I want to wear my tube top and daisy dukes, I'll fucking wear it. *snaps fingers*

I actually find winter wear really attractive on girls. A nice form fitting sweater looks great. But again, it's not cold enough here where we need layers. Soooo, it's not quite the same scenario.

And one for the early morning crew(except in Europe where it's afternoon ;) )

I hate hate hate the winter months: it's not so much the cold, because you can deal with that, but the loss of daylight - and it's started already :(
We don't do sexy cold weather clothing in the UK. We shrink back into a kinda soviet style brown and grey shapeless heap and everyone has long faces and wet feet. Even sex has to be planned: it can take half an hour to warm up hands enough to touch someone else's bare skin without squeals of shock.
So what do I do? I try to have a bit of accessorized colour sticking out from the grunge - just to show there is a person alive inside.

Ahoy from the southern part of the north hemisphere!

It's still too hot here to start thinking about winter but I should adress the question by saying that soft silky white shirts under black leather jackets do the trick around here.

P.S. It's nice to be back!

I don't like to be judgey with things that are really peripheral to a person's character or personality. Having said that, no one driving a pick-up truck will ever seduce me.

I realize that is the minority position, but hey -- it's me.

Revisiting yesterdays discussion...but what the heck.

What if a pick-up isn't the only vehicle that a person drives?

I make sure that the under sweater of my argyle twinset is V neck

::wiggly eyebrows::

Ah...finally, a question I can relate to and offer excellent suggestions!! :D

Scarves and silk long johns......are so practical and yet can be sooo sexy!! Yes, I did wear both last winter!

And the best??

A tease of skin showing in the v zipped opening of your parka...drives men wild every single time....;)

While not set up as a show & tell thread, Management has no issues with it. Please proceed.

I looooooooove when the weather turns. A sweater, cute plaid skirt and knee high boots - that's a good look. And when it gets really cold, you wear tights. And I tend to wear padded bras more in the cold weather to keep the girls warm.

And I get to bust out my cashmere hoodies. They are my luxury splurge that I wear as pajama tops when the weather gets cold. I may have an addiction.

It doesn't ever get freezing cold where I live.

Oh Chained. Did anyone ever tell you that sexy is an attitude and not found in what you wear? However, let's take your question in the spirit that it was asked.

When temperatures dip down to cooler than normal, I tend to wear form fitting sweaters, leggings and boots. Comfortable and sexy. I prefer the v neck sweaters over the round neck ones. If it isn't too cold, I will still go with the leggings and wear a light weight long sleeve top.

Undergarments, now that's another story altogether. ;)

Fall may be right around the corner, but colder weather isn’t. I live in Texas.

Summer is not a sexy season. At least not for me. I am fair-skinned. Cover-it-up and try-not-to-burn are my mottos. And that’s 9 to 11 months out of the year. Layers, long, loose dresses and skirts, long-sleeved thin sweaters, hats, and sunscreen. Oh sure, occasionally I’ll flash a little leg, or expose the cleavage. Mostly at night. During the day the sun just bounces off the whiteness and blinds someone. :D

Winter, now. Or at least what passes here for winter. Figure-hugging sweaters and dresses, snug-fitting pants, leggings and tights, all in lovely dark colors that give my whiteness an exotic look. Much preferable to summers pastels that make me look about as interesting as biscuit dough.

And, boots! Did I mention boots? High-heeled boots, half boots, suede boots, riding boots, red boots!!!

*sigh*

I really need to move somewhere colder.

I think you girls should boycott Winter clothes. Don't be confined! Fuck that! Thin, white tee shirts and no bras in the cold. Also in the rain. Also in the heat.

You seem to be holding back, Pmann.

You should say what you REALLY mean. If it was up to you, women would just boycott clothes altogether. *grin*

I am much more inclined to judge someone by the music they're listening to in their car than by the car they're driving. You can tell so much about a person by the music they listen to. It's like a glimpse of what's really on the inside, the heart, the mind, and the soul.

For me, there is definitely something to be said about a man in a pick-up truck. It's just...well...manly! Now, that doesn't necessarily mean it's true but it sure does look nice.

In the summertime it's sundresses as much of the time as I can. Long ones, short ones, it doesn't matter. As long as they're pretty, I'm in heaven.

The wintertime is not the time for me to worry about looking attractive. It's layers upon layers of anything I can get my hands on. I don't like being cold...at all.

Hey Pmann...

I will if you wear only your tighty whiteys when it is -20 C out....with a wind chill bringing it to -30 C...

We'll see who can stand it the longest...:)

NEW TOPIC ALERT!!!

So, I had this question pop into my head and I thought it was so good it couldn't wait until later.

We have or lit friends, playmates, lovers, soul mates...etc. Someone that is special to us. Sometimes we only know them through PMs. Some of us get lucky and move into voice , maybe cam. Sometimes it goes farther and we start to learn personal things, and the person becomes closer. But for the very vast majority of us , it will only ever be online. It becomes a topic "what if we ever met?" "What would we do first?" and so on.

But what if the magic Lit fairy came along and granted us this desire. We could be with our online partner for 48 hours. The fairy would make it so the time stood still for the rest of the world and there would be absolutely no way to trace it back and there would be special "no guilt" fairy dust sprinkled on us so afterwards there was no spousal remorse. However, to have this wish granted at the end of the 48hours you would no longer have the online relationship. The person would simply vanish from your online life and every way you had to connect with them would be severed. Both of you know what you're getting into and know the price of this one time togetherness.

Would you do it?

I'll answer. We all know that online rarely lasts. Hell, 6months seems like a long time. So on one hand if you play the odds, it won't last and you can have this time together. But, having them just vanish from your life would be hard.

My vote. I wouldn't take the 48 hr pass. If what I have online is special, and while it might not last forever, I wouldn't be willing to toss it aside.

I would pass, on the real life chance 48 hour encounter.
While it may prove to be the most magical 48 hours in my life.. I would rather simply continue the online friendship/fantasy. It might not last longer than a week, month, or year.. But, much more could be learned and shared. Much better to ruin a fantasy online.. than in real life, on a 48 hour pass, only to possibly be disappointed in RL, too.

At times, special people vanish from even online, of their own accord, and that can be hollow. It happens sometimes along the lines of the advice that Maya Angelou offered about priorities and options, which can be exceptionally lame if it strikes you.

But to see them in person, to see the fire in their eyes and feel their skin tingle, even if for only a few hours, can leave an indelible mark and a memory that lives forever.

I totally agree.

I definitely would. Life is to be lived, chances taken. I could have what could be some amazing memories that can be taken out and savoured occasionally...for the rest of my life...

No regrets here.
