That's my take on it. Since I'm not into that, it doesn't appeal to me as the supplier of splooge.

I’ve given up several important friendships/relationships that no longer brought me value. Most of this was caused by an evolution of me and my needs. I’ve noticed that the smaller my friend circle, the better a friend I become and more I’ve been able to grow.

I gave up serious cycling some years ago. I certainly didn’t have the commitment any longer to be competitive, but I also became quite tired of the constant battle for female equality in the sport (I was on the “wrong” side of that battle). I filled the void with hiking and photography - now that every weekend wasn’t spent racing.

As for church, I left that many years ago. It never served me and felt more like an obligation. I’ve spent a lot of time searching for the solution for that, but I’ve yet to find it...and that’s ok with me.

I gave up all the triathlon and running races when my ex and I split. I couldn't afford shoes or equipment there for a while, and certainly didn't have time to train...was working every chance I got to hang onto the house.
I recovered financially in a couple years, but no longer wanted to be among that circle of people who'd been immersed in her story in my absence; as she's quite the social butterfly and perpetual "woe is me" banner waver.
Similarly, I gave up several friends to that dynamic. Some have since seen through the facade and have reached out to make apologies for taking sides.

I'm stubborn to a fault where principles are concerned and that cost me a huge chunk of my livelihood over the summer. Karma being the sadistic bitch she is though; the contractor who thought he was beating me at the time, will likely now go bankrupt due to COVID, and I used our split to pursue other avenues which should carry me through, as luck would have it.

- I finally pried my clinging little fingers from that last toxic family relationship.

This has been in the works for years, so the void has been filled with many thing. There’s still a small hole from this last severance, but it will fill.

- I no longer view Lit a possible source for a D/s partner.

Hmmm. Well, I’m still here, be it in fits and spurts and with less frequency. I still enjoy my board time, but it’s taken on a different character. The off-Lit void is filled with off-Lit things.
