Christmas never loses its lustre. Note the British spelling there.

Family, friends, good food, good wine, no work worries.

In fact, it gets better. My kids are so ridiculously excited by it that I can’t fail to share their joy. It’s the one time of the year that it’s easiest to hit the reset button and have time to really remember the important stuff. Plus I have stupidly generous family who shower me with the best gifts. What’s not to like?

The routine is the same every year. I cook lunch for my parents, my wife’s parents and my wife’s aunt and uncle. I provided the main meal, they bring wine, cheese, dessert and other goodies. Then over to my sister in the Sussex countryside for Boxing Day (I always cycle the 80-odd km to work off the excess of the day before) for a mega buffet and loads of champagne. Cycle back the following day and try not to be sick getting over the South Downs having had a full English breakfast and nursing a hangover from hell. Then see various other family and friends before hosting 15 people for new year.

Bloody hell. I wish it was December now.

Coffee. Coffee has not lost its luster. Hot, frothy, punch-you-in-the-eye, ass-kicking, day-saving coffee.

In fact, the older I get, the better it gets.
I go to bed craving my morning coffee.

Lotsa other things too... I’ll agree with Pmann that music, for me, hasn’t lost its luster. Although I think there’s boatloads of current acts that are as enjoyable as older ones.

Seeing my kiddo smile.

My mom’s cooking.
My dad’s stained glass.
My brother’s photography.
My other brother’s strumming.
My BF’s woodworking.

Dirty Dancing. Lol.

...All the art. Including the opuses made between the sheets ;)

And (your) attention whoring. That ish is priceless AND timeless!

Walking on the beach listening to music. Two things guaranteed to never lose their luster #doesntgetanybetter

  • 70’s singer/songwriters - I appreciate their tone and message more every year.
  • Kettle corn - It reminds me of going to the rodeo as a kid...and I’ll still eat a whole bag.
  • Coffee - I’ve come to terms with being a coffee snob and may it never lose its luster.
  • Blankets - Call me a baby, but I love being surrounded by blankets at home.
  • Bullet Points - Every chance I get.

Dancing It's gotten better as I've gotten older.

Jonny Quest from the 60s. While I couldn't find the article, it was one of the inspirations for Indiana Jones. Also, it embodied the space race and America's turn toward science and engineering. At the same time it has a innocence that I miss.

Christmas. A big tradition in my family, which I carry on for my siblings. It brings me more joy, and more appreciation of its message with each year, and we have several under 6 these days.

Orange cake with orange frosting. It was my birthday cake of choice. My spouse made one for my birthday this year. Awesome

My college friends. Been playing cards with them every week for more years than I care to say. We're quirky, nerdy, and socially awkward, but they're like a second family.

Still rocking the ✨luster✨

Espresso, chocolate and steak are top of the line, refined high class, not to be messed with or I can get grumpy.

My bike, bananas, beer and Batman.

Gym coach, you can add in him too since I’m on a roll.

Hearing “mom, can I ....”
Really anything with my kiddos.

My husband’s accent and mixing two different languages. Which usually is followed by me saying, “dude, I have no clue wtf you’re trying to say.”

The f’bomb when I’m fired up.

Music, I like it loud.

The female camaraderie here is pretty awesome with a handful of ladies.

My love for the color of black.

The mountains and snow.

Trekka is a sexy thing I wanna roll around in bed with and ya know, giggle.

Steak! How could I forget about a good ribeye??
With a little black dress on.
Plus a redhead 💋

Hmmm.

The thrill of speed. Doesn't have to be crazy fast. Especially I a boat; I love the wind on my face.

Boobs. Cuz, duh.

There truly is nothing quite like that first bite of a superbly seared, nearly charred; yet rare ribeye. Went there last night, matter of fact.

A 68 Dodge Charger R/T. Second gen Chargers are nearly unattainable, but still the most desirable classic, IMO.

Coffee. Black. Maybe sugar in the second growler of the day.

A bent fishing rod. From crappie and bream to drag melting cobia...all fun.

Reconnected with a man I knew in high school. We both liked each other then and decades later we end up in the same town, both single parents, our kids in the same school. He has not lost his luster. The quarantine has been very kind to us.

never to lose their luster.....

music - that inspiring, mood capturing, memory seering mix of poetry and melody; life is incomplete without it

cheeseburger and a shake, together - delicious decadence

hard workout - sounds insane, but that drained, sweaty feeling of accomplishment erases all the bad feels and renews my belief i can accomplish something valuable

Paublo Neruda - i hate her for addicting me to it and the idea that i’ll never achieve such eloquence, but i can’t stop consuming it

Jelly Belly - fuck off if you don't get it

Jelly beans?!
I’m guessing your fav flavor is buttered popcorn. Or strawberry cheesecake.
Still the beans! 🤣

I’m adding red fingernail polish to my list. Always rocking the red.

You would think by now boobs would have lost their luster, they have not.

Every glimpse is a moment of pure magic.

yes, jelly beans, but only Jelly Belly. i order them direct from the factor so they’re sure to be fresh. it’s really hard to pick favorite flavors, but yeah, butter popcorn is up there. so is pina colada, banana, the list goes on! anything but licorice. yuck.
